Crush...Beechwood sometimes passes against teams they are heavily favored against to get ready for the playoffs. Teams like Raceland and LCA are likely to stack the box and a passing attack comes in rather handy. Boone Co. , with Alexander, got beat by a Trinity team that had 11 players within 3 yards of the line and Boone could do little about it. I am sure the staff knows that they can grind the other class ateams under with only the running game.

For those who want Beechwood to play up...why not enjoy having 2 potential State Champions (NewCath and Beechwood) rather than one. Beechwood schedules tough none A opponents and next year will start absorbing a yearly beating from Highlands. Dixie and CovCath will probably be more than Beechwood can handle next year due to a small senior class.

I don't know what is your problem with this Buckler kid so much. You act like this proves he is not one of the best backs in the area, and well this proves NOTHING. You can be the best back in the world, and if your line can't block for you against a team, then you are not going anywhere...

He's a great back. And shouldn't you have confidence in yourself and your team week in and week out?

And he was shut down by quality teams. Just as if Tiepel were a running back at Bellevue, I guess he would not be any good if he ran into these defenses as well?

 

Instead of dissing on Buckler, just heap the praise on the quality and play of the defenses that has checked him.

He has had back and ankle problems all year, hard to say what this was, I do know there were several first team players that were out, or playing with some kind of flu like illness.

 

Those are good excuses, Bellevue did the same this year as last. They bullied the big Beechwood team and knocked their players(all the starters) around all first half and moved the ball on offense, just have zero passing attack so it was easy for Beech to bring it to Bellevue's back. t=Then the bigger Beech finally wore them out, and took over. Yes, Beechwood is a good team, but can be beaten by a Raceland, LCA, Bellevue etc...

All the talk about the running backs is really misguided. The backs performance is a reflection of the line in front of him. A blind squirrel on morphine could run behind BWs line. Yes # 44 is a talented kid, but he really isn’t an exceptional back. He is an exceptional athlete. Just be thankful he plays linebacker as well. I would say any back would be successful behind the line of BW. If Buckler transferred to BW he would really run up the yards.

By the way, the line of BW has a 3.8 average GPA. Do you understand the benefits of having kids that are easily taught and can retain information working as a team?

Very true, deciding who the best back is would be what he does in the second level of D, breaking tackles, jukes, break away speed, etc...

With all due respect,I agree Beechwood can be beat .Raceland,LCA and Hazard come to mind right away.But ,I do not think this year that Bellevue can beat Beechwood.It all starts upfront and BW will win this everytime.JMO

Has someone said he one of the best in the state? I haven't seen it maybe I missed it. What I have seen is people say he is one of the best in the region. Your argument for why he is not, is not a good argument at all. I mean you say since NCC and Beechwood shut him down, that he is not as good as advertised? I mean I know you know more about football than this. There is a lot more to it, than just the runningback. As I said you can have the best runningback in the world. However if you have no hole to run through, because of your line not being able to block against those teams, then your not going anywhere. So obviously they haven't played anyone as good as they are this year. And please don't give me well look at the teams names of who they play. Beechwood is just flat out better than them, and their line is better. So hmm even though they play bigger schools, their running back Teipel still has a great line who is giving him holes to run through against them. I mean with your little thing about well he didn't do good against NCC or Beechwood means nothing. For it to be a fair comparison, then we need to have Beechwood play like Trinity or St. Xavier. Those teams are definitely head and shoulders better than Beechwood, and would control the line. So when Teipel doesn't have a good game against them, does that mean he isn't as good as people say?

There are classes of schools all having to do with size of student body. I have heard enough about socio economic advantages and the advantage our gene pool gives us, come on, get a grip. Not every parent is well to do in the district, believe me. So stop your whining and giving all the reasons your schools cant develop a program and just do it.

I am sure we would not beat the Trinity or Saint x teams but we would at least have the tools to give them a run, and there would be no excuses the next day about devine intervention!

Crush time to come down off the high horse. Because the truth is you've rode someone else's horses to build the program you have built. Yes you've had a lot of great athletes from in district but a whole heck of a lot out of district also.

Beechwood started off slow, why they keep on starting these games throwing is beyond me! When they got back to the running game all went as you would expect. Tiepel played injured all night, not his usual game. Joe Collisimo and Joe Daniels picked it up well. Bellevues Offense was terrible, the so called running game was put in check by the Beechwood line, I would guess they didnt crack a hundred yds. Buckler was a non factor.

Goes to show the distance between #1 and #2.
