I know what you mean. If he does win, I will be thinking of my parents who didn't live to see it but always said that one day it will happen.

While I do not want Obama to win, I certainly hope and pray that if he does, his grandmother lives to see it.

I appreciate the attitude MT. :thumb:

Whether I like him as a candidate or not, I respect the family unit. I am going to be a grandparent early next year and only hope I live long enough to see my kids and grandkids accomplish great things. I would wish the same for anyone else.

The good thing for his grandmother is that whether Obama wins or loses, she has already seen her grandson earn an historical nomination for the highest office in the land from a major party and that in and of itself is huge.

What? A bi-racial man being elected president?

I wondered how long it would take before someone would politicize this.

Does anyone know when early voting starts in Hawaii? Somebody get her a ballot.

Absolutely amazing.

Wow...

That's a good idea.

Hopefully Obama was able to spend some quality time with his grandmother. I hope she knew he was there.

I heard on MSNBC five or six days ago that she, like many in her age bracket, has a broken hip. I also heard that she was home and not in the hospital. It is alarming that they would send one who is gravely ill home.

There are times when there's no need for hospital care, and a patient can rest/recover more comfortably at home, especially an elderly patient. I'm sure she has in-home nursing.
