Ashland faces another district foe next week playing in Lexington against Bryan Station.

In 2007 the Defenders nailed the Cats 34 – 20. They are arguably the biggest and most physical team Ashland has faced so far this year and will provide a formidable obstacle in the Tomcats race for a district championship.

BS is currently 3 – 4 and 1 -2 in the district. Also, they are coming off a loss to cross town rival Henry Clay 21 – 28…I look for this game to be a slug fest and a test of wills between two large and experienced lines…Tomcat linemen will be tested next Friday.

I have to take Ashland until they are stopped. They are on a roll and their pride and "swagger" are back. I predict a close game, but Ashland has proven to themselves that they have what it takes to win.

I am going with Ashland in this one by the score of 27-16. Ashland has been playing well and is showing no signs of letting up. Yes, the level of competition increases this week, but I think they will be up to the challenge.

This game could really throw the District 6 picture into chaos. If Bryan Station wins, and Ashland goes on to lose to Johnson Central, there would be a three-way tie for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. If that were to happen, currently, Ashland is out in front on the tie-breaker with 17 possible points. Station has 13 and Woodford County 10. Of course, these numbers can change quite a bit in the next three weeks.

If Ashland loses and then goes on to defeat JC, they (Ashland) would be #1, JC at #2, Woodford at #3 and Bryan Station #4

If Ashland wins this game, Woodford County will be locked into the 3rd place seed and Bryan Station will be locked in at 4th place. Then we would have to wait for the big district battle the following week to determine the district title.

Wouldnt it be the other way around. Woodford Co. has already played all of its district games and finished with a 2-2 record. If Bryan Station(currently 1-2 in the district) were to lose to Ashland, that would give them a 1-3 record completing district play. Thus would make Station the #4 seed and Woodford Co. the #3 seed.

I fixed it. I had the two transposed.

I seen you corrected it after I posted.:thumb: The next couple of weeks will be exciting for this district.

This is a big game for Ashland, this it their opportunity to prove they are in the top of 5A. I know Ashland will come out focused, they just have to do what they do. Ashlands defense is playing very good right now, they need to keep that going, and put some stops on Bryan Station.

This is for a home play off game, and Ashland needs to come out play to make that happen. No looking ahead to Johnson Central, only focus on the game in front of you.

Good luck to Ashland.

This game will be all about the big boys! Very similar teams, both have good fast rb's, younger inexpierenced qb's and solid big lines. This one might come down to turnovers, Ashland would have the edge on that Station is averaging around 3 turnovers a game. As a fan of linemen this one will be fun to watch.

Ashland in a close one; 24-20.

Ashland by a touchdown if they dont get caught up in pre game hooplah.

Ashland is playing really good football,i think they roll again this week. 24- 21

Station with the upset, eventually they will figure out how to win a close game.
