Congrats to Ashland, but I would have to say would be hard to brag on either teams defense with a score of this nature.

Woodford has great athletes but no clue how to defend anyone. It looked like they didn't even practice defense. Congrads Ashland

How does this shake up the district seedings for district 6? Wasn't Woodford favored to be the #2 behind JC?

Just got back from Putnam Stadium. One of the most exciting games I've ever seen at Putnam Stadium. It was definitely a track meet most of the night, and it looked like that the team that had the ball last would win the ballgame. Ashland made some late adjustments late in the 4th quarter, one of them was where they started rushing Bonner, and they also started dropping their defensive ends into coverage, and those paid huge dividends with the three late interceptions, two going back for touchdowns (one of them called back on a horrendous call by the official, where he called a block in the back on Ashland where the Woodford County player clearly turned his back after the initial block by Bonner)and the 3rd interception that ended Woodford Co's chances. Ashland's offensive line was outstanding again all night opening up holes for Carter, Albers and company, and also giving Hunter time to pass the ball tonight. I tell you one thing, young Mr. Hunter is going to be a great, great quarterback. He's going to set all kinds of records before his 4 years are up. A great win for the Tomcats, and it sets them up for two huge district games to end the season. Great job Tomcats. :thumb::thumb:

The game turned on two defensive plays.

 

Ashland was down 10 when T.R. Hush (#11) intercepted Duckworth’s pass and returned it to the end zone – the TD was called back due to a block in the back. The Tomcat Offense scored on a pass play.

 

Ashland’s defense pick off another Duckworth pass on WC’s next drive. This time it was Burns (#1) and he returned it for the TD.

 

WC’s last drive ended with another interception of Duckworth by T.R. Hush.

 

It was a great win for the Tomcats. I think I remember seeing that WC was ranked number 8 in 5A last week by BGP.

 

These are clearly not last year's Tomcats!

Woodford has finished district play now. Their district record is 2/2. They probably won't be number 2.

 

Ashland (2/0) has Bryan Station (1/2) and Johnson Central (2/0) left to play.

 

Johnson Central has Montgomery Co. (0/3) and Ashland to play.

WOW!!!! I'm tired after watching that game. Congratulations to the Tomcats! They played as a team and won as a team! Let's keep Dom DeMartino in our prayers as he suffered a knee injury in the first half and did not return. He is to have a mri Monday.

Hush's pick was the biggest play of the season for Ashland.

Congratulations to Ashland. If you missed this game, you really missed something. This was a great game from the fan's perspective, since I was an Ashland fan for the night, I enjoyed it greatly.

 

Woodford County has a nice team, that is capable of scoring at pretty much any time. They played great, until some late turnovers.

 

Ashland hung with them score for score, pretty much, until Woodford gave Ashland some opportunities, and Ashland capitalized on those nicely.

 

Hunter did a nice job passing, I was impressed for a freshman to pass as well as he did. Albers and Carter are hard to bring down, they had several great runs.

Great game Tomcats.Great job O-Line keep improving and keep getting more physical, you are big key to this football team .Good all round effort by whole team .Great win Tomcats.

Hunter lead the team like a vet.Hunter Reminds me of a young Steve Curnutte with his leadership.
