I agree, but TJ has been a great WR for us. His numbers last year were insane and he's off to a pretty solid start this year, despite struggling in the 1st few games.

 

TJ's whining does get a little old, but I'd rather have somebody's act be centered around wanting to win and being competitive than what Chad does.

You know I honestly dont know about that anymore. Where has Chad been all year? Are any defense afraid of him anymore? Each time Palmer drops back he looks to Housh first. Housh is an older Boldin.

And it is a darn good thing that Boldin has Fitzgerald. Chad isn't open for two reasons IMO: 1)There is a guy over and under him everytime and 2) He doesn't want to run across the middle. But without him, that other guy would be on TJ

If they wouldn't take two first rounders for Chad, it's unlikely they'll trade TJ...now that Matt Millen is gone, the only team with worse management than Cincy is Oakland.

 

-Turned down a 2008 first round pick and a 2009 guaranteed third round pick (and potentially another first rounder) for Chad Johnson.

-Heading into the season, RB was one of the team's strength's and deepest positions with Rudi, Kenny Watson and Chris Perry. They cut Rudi. His play in Detroit proves that he could have been a solid contributor in Cincy. Then, they cut Kenny Watson to make room for Chris Henry? Now, five weeks into the season, what was once a strength and a position with depth, they have a guy in Chris Perry who is injury prone and fumbles more than Tony Dixon...and a guy who has been with the team exactly one week and couldn't succeed with every opportunity in a rush heavy offense (Cedric Benson).

 

Seriously, people can criticize Marvin Lewis all they want, but there's virtually no basis for it. No coach can succeed with his owner undermining him time after time and making absolutely horrible personnel decisions. No coach will ever sustain any kind of success in Cincinnati as long as Brown is calling the shots. He might get lucky and put some pieces in place for a solid year or two run, but Mike Brown can't consistently make the right moves and decisions to keep the roster competitive.

 

Turning down potentially two first round picks for Chad Johnson...cutting Kenny Watson to make room for Chris Henry and then signing Cedric Benson...what else is there to say? It's a joke.

Do you not seem to realize that year even though Chad hasn't done much this year. It doesn't mean teams still aren't double teaming him and keeping someone over top and underneath of him at all time. People are still doubling Chad as always. He just has not been successful against it this year. If TJ was the focal point of a teams secondary, then he wouldn't get as open as he does. He is not going to beat someone deep that often, and wouldn't get as open over the middle and underneath like he does now.

TD goes over the middle and is awesome in the slot. A lot of teams use the Cover 2 D, the best way to beat the Cover 2 is going across the middle into linebacker coverage. Chad is not getting many double teams this year, he might have the #1 corner on him but they aren't scared of him this year.

 

TJ would be just as effective with Chris Henry at the #1 receiver.

I am just being argumentative here, but I would not say the runningback core was a strength at all going into this year. The Runningback core has been going down since the end of the 2005 season. I really dont see what Rudi has done in Detroit to make you think he still has it. Detroit has got blown out every game just about. So most of times teams just going to be sitting back late in games just to protect the leads, which will allow for some runs to be decent. Rudi can't even get the most carries on that Detroit team. Even though he started last week, the other guy still got more carries than him. So runningback IMO was not a strength. I agreed with the Bengasl for letting him go. The Bengals did screw up though in not signing another runningback afte they let Rudi go though.
