A lot of teams use the Cover 2 D, the best way to beat the Cover 2 is going across the middle into linebacker coverage. Chad is not getting many double teams this year, he might have the #1 corner on him but they aren't scared of him this year. People teams are still doing the same thing as they always do against Chad. He just has not been succesful against it this year. Teams still use their #1 corner, and also roll the safety over top on his side to make sure he dont beat them long. He usually was quick enough to still find the holes against this, but this year he just hasn't been. But that doesn't mean they are playing him differently now, they still doing the same thing as always. That also don't change what I said. If TJ was the main threat on a offense and having an opposing teams #1 corner on him all the time, and also people cheating over to his side. He definitely wouldn't do as well at all. TJ is getting right now at finding the holes, but if he is the focal point. He will find that a lot harder and wouldn't do as well.

So u think they never have doubled Chad then correct? Because basically that is what you are saying... Im telling you they are still running the same defenses against Chad as they have when he was having great years. Just because he is not doing as well this year dont mean they stopped doing it. It just means that he is not doing as good of a job at breaking it. Go back and look at even some post game comments from this year from opposing teams. They talk about how they doubled Chad and made sure he didn't go off against them. Also you act like what Chad does or has done is nothing special and that anyone can run the routes he usually does. If it was so easy then, you would think all kinds or receivers would have put up the same numbers as he has for the last 5 years...

The biggest difference in going to San Fran is that TJ wouldn't have Carson Palmer throwing him the ball. Yes, the "called" routes could be exactly the same...and he could face the same types of defense. But, those routes that TJ "improvises" (and Carson recognizes) are the ones that would be missing. I think it would take a year or two before TJ could even hope of returning to those types of numbers he posted last year.
