October 3, 200817 yr USF has talent. You see flashes of it. They can dominate teams. However, they lack consistency. They sometimes seem to let up when they should have the gas down. Championship teams don't do that. Championship teams don't believe their press clippings. Championship teams defend their house. This is not a championship team. If they drop clean out of the top 25, I would not be surprised. They don't deserve to be there. Can they still win the Big East? Yes. Will they? I don't think so. I picked Cincinnati to win it, I see no reason to change that, yet. This program is taking leaps when it should be taking baby steps. Remember, this is only the 12th season of football and only the 7th at the D1A level. I'll continue to be there cheering them all the way. And should they win the Big East, I will be happier than a pig in slop. I hope you're right, but being on our 3rd string QB (4th if you count Mauk), it will be tough. Pike may return in 3 weeks the last I heard.
October 3, 200817 yr The Big East is very down this year, and for once I am very happy about it. The funny thing that I feel, is that the Big East may look horrible, but I bet they can stand up and beat some very good teams this year, and will. Why?

October 3, 200817 yr USF is as talented as anyone in the country, but they make way to many mistakes on a more than average basis. As I have said since last year, I think Shady McCoy is the best back in the country. Too bad he has to play for Wanstache... :thumb: That's definitely something we agree on. I'd be surprised if he isn't the first back off the board next April...that's assuming the lure of playing another season for the 'Stache isn't too enticing to resist.

So what do you do w/ the two bad ones you left out? I'm still not sold on Penn State or whoever comes out of that conference. Can we just have the SEC and Big 12 go at it?

I thought I read something about him being 3 years removed from his senior year in high school, which would make allow him to be eligible should he choose to go. I may have him confused with somebody else. If so, let me edit...I'd be surprised if he isn't the first back off the board in April 2010.

Pitt uses a two back system, so he is far from overworked. Stevens-Howling is a solid back, but honestly I don't think they get the ball to McCoy enough...

He did go to prep school, but I'm pretty sure he needed it to qualify...
October 3, 200817 yr He did go to prep school, but I'm pretty sure he needed it to qualify... So what is the rule? I thought the only requirement was that you had to be three years removed from your senior year in high school. If that's the case, couldn't he enter the draft based on that?
