It's got to be either Lincecum or Santana ... it's a pretty tough call.

No love for the eastern Ky. boy? You just love to add fuel to the fire don't you? :D

I agree, but his 22 wins, and his low ERA is definitely an indicator on the great season that Webb had. Webb would have probably won this going away if not for the bad three starts after taking a line drive in the ribs. Webb made no excuses, but I know that had to effect his pitching. I will also admit that I'm a huge homer when it comes to Brandon. If I were to take that out of the equation, I would probably vote for Lincecum too. :D

Taking out the homer factor , how do the home parks factor into the evaluation? AZ is known as a pitcher friendly park, right?

Not anymore than San Fran I don't think, but I'm really not sure.

My vote goes to C.C. because he has just been awesome in the NL, and pitching on 3 days rest most pitchers can't do that.

I checked after I posted it and you're right. They're about the same. That still leads me to side with Lincecum since they essentially pitched in the same type of parks.

Would Webb finishing with 23 wins made you change your mind any?

No. I've never subscribed to the W-L stat. Clemens proved that a few years ago with Houston.

SF has a terrible offense which obviously doesnt help Lincecum pick up wins.

The D'backs don't really have a very good offense either. They either score 7-9 runs, or 0-2 runs. There's really no in between for them.

Tough call. Lincecum and Webb are 1a and 1b, or 1b and 1a. I look for a close vote. Lincecum's overall stats are better, but it's hard to ignore someone who won 4 more games than anyone else in the league.

I know the Giants bullpen blew two of Lincecum's wins, one of which was a loss.

Anyone know how many wins the AZ bullpen tanked for Webb?

I know of one for sure. I'll find out tonight, and post the result later.

It may even out, but that's another reason why W-L isn't at the top of my criteria.

I don't have one, but if I did have a vote, CC would get it.

Who's adding the fuel? ;)

I like Webb as much as anyone ... but he had some rough starts down the stretch, and Santana's strong finish puts him ahead of Webb, as far as I'm concerned.

C.C. gets my vote. Should have a W next to his name before he even starts.
