I, too, hate to pick between these two teams. But, with what I have seen this year, I think Raceland will win a pretty close game. Greenup and Raceland both will be riding high from their previous week's wins. The Rams will prove to be too tough for my beloved Muskies.

Rival Gameand this is all that matters to the players. It doesn't matter what size the school is or the wins/losses. This is another county/city rival game. Anyone thinking that both teams won't be jacked up for this one doesn't know much about football. Two years ago, undefeated Raceland went into Lloyd against a 1-3 Musketeer team that had the game won until late in the fourth quarter when Benji Mullins ran back a punt. I guarrantee you Coach Sammons and Coach Vanderhoof and their staffs will have the teams ready to play. It should be a hard hitting and exciting game. To me, the game will be won or lost up front. The offensive and defensive lines will have to dominate the other team in order to pull this one out. Good luck to both teams and play injury free.

As an admirer of Ram football, this game is troubling. Raceland has beaten the Musketeers for three years in a row. That means these seniors have never been beaten by GC and conversely, GC seniors have never beaten their cross county rivals. Will the Rams take GC seriously, especially after an emotionally charged victory last week…or….will the GC players look at this game being their last chance to tag the Rams.

 

With every successive victory Raceland posts this season, it is going to get increasingly more difficult to maintain focus and play each game like it was your last. With the game being played at Lloyd, something tells me the Musketeers will come out on fire and Raceland needs to be prepared to weather that early surge. IF they fall behind, not to panic, but just keep hammering away.

 

The Rams are not going to sneak up on anybody at this point. Everyone who follows high school football knows that Raceland is on a roll right now.

If the Rams avoid an emotional let down; they win big. But, it is hard to keep a team up every week.

Raceland wins big, but I doubt that the Muskies roll over for them. The Rams will earn it.

You're exactly right. Raceland has to come to play, if they don't they will go home with their first loss. Two years ago the Rams went into Lloyd thinking they were going to win big, and about got beat for it. Greenup will come to win this game, make no mistake about it.

 

Raceland had better show up prepared for a battle, because Greenup is going to give it to them.

Raceland will be minus Tolliver.

Sophomore reserve Micheal Litter is questionable. He had a very good kick off return last week versus LCA.

Litteral has a broken bone in his hand, seeing an Orthopedist today.

 

I just found out that this is Homecoming week for Greenup. Raceland not only has to deal with the emotions of a rivalry, but with the school spirit that engulfs it with the Homecoming festivities. Greenup will play with extra intensity and focus trying to knock the Rams from the unbeaten. Raceland comes in trying to prove that beating LCA was not a fluke and that they deserve to be a top ranked team. Which teams will show up friday in Lloyd? It is up to the players to decide that.
