September 24, 200818 yr Joe Biden led off his speech this morning at Cincinnati's Union Terminal by promising that, if elected, he and Barack Obama would make the terminal a major railroad hub once again. He reinforced the statement by saying, "You think I'm kidding, but I'm not!" Apparently he's unaware that the tracks are gone, the trains are gone, and the terminal is being put to a much better use. He even mentioned the museum in his first sentence; but he must think that it only exists because the terminal has fallen on hard times. His handlers should have filled him in on the fact that we kind of like it the way it is. We're really not interested in replacing it with a stinky old train yard. :lol: First he's trying to raise a man from his wheelchair; now he's trying to reverse time. Maybe he's just trying too hard.

About 5-6 years ago my family took the Amtrak to Chicago. It was one of our best vacations ever. We actually got ON the train in Maysville, KY. The problem? Herbert Hoover was President when the stock market crashed, and TV's weren't around in 1929. :lol:
September 24, 200818 yr My favorite part of his speech was when he mentioned the helicopter he was on being forced down in the mountains along the Afgahnistan/Pakistan border. It was "forced down" by a blinding snow storm. It was too dangerous to fly around in the mountains, while not being able to see the peaks. He makes it sound like they were forced down due to some sort of military action.
