I would think Big 12 would get left out. If USC and Georgia go Undefeated my guess is they are in. Georgia's SOS will get them in. The only way USC is out is if the rest of their conference stinks the place up and hurt's USC's SOS, but I think USC would be #1 in both polls, so I would say they're in.

 

UCLA certainly isn't adding much strength to USC's schedule right now.

I mean this is so easy to say when there's no way that it will happen. Everyone knows they won't play every team in the SEC. UC may not be as good as you thought (hoped). I would be willing to bet that they don't get above 40 every game this year. It's funny that there was no way they would score 40 on UC, but now only 1 team in the country can hold them below 40. Laughable.

What's laughable is saying a SEC team should get in for no other reason than they play in the SEC. Unless they have a rash of injuries along the OL, they will put up 40+ every game. Their line is simply that good...

If the best were simply based on NFL prospects, USC would be working on the longest winning streak in college football history and probably wouldn't have had a handful of games decided by less than 10 points...

 

Oklahoma has played in 4 BCS Bowl games since 2003 and the only one they weren't dominated in was against Boise State. They're 0-4...the average margin of loss was 16 points. I've seen this song and dance from the Sooners before...until they prove it in a big game vs. someone outside the Big 12, I'll be skeptical.

 

Just my opinion...I respect yours and you may be proven correct. At this point, I need more than what I've got to be convinced that the best title game won't be USC vs. Georgia, LSU or Florida (if they can get there).

OU would have at least 3 and an undefeated SEC team would have at least 5. The thing is I don't think anyone can run the table in the SEC.

I think the switch to the no huddle has changed their program. In the past Stoops was rather conservative and relied on his D. That's not the case with this team...

Which is fine, but lets see them prove it against teams better than UC and Washington. They are very good, but I doubt they hang 40 every week. If a team goes undefeated in a conference that as of right now has 5 top 10 teams and they don't get to compete for the national title then that sport has ZERO credibility.

Yes. There is a lot of football left to play. I believe if any of the 3 go undefeated and left out it will be awful for that team not to get a chance at the title.

I have a hard time judging a team's prowess by a lopsided win over UC. UC just isn't at that stage yet. You can tell me you saw it, and some scouts may be saying, but as of now I'm not buying it. Now that said, if UC should walk throught the BEast holding opponents to minimal scoring and dominating them on the D side of the ball, then I'm with ya. As of now I'm not. As far as the thread's debate, we'll have to see how it plays out. To say any of these teams mentioned are better than the other is somewhat ludicrous, as only USC has played anyone with that might be mentioned nationally. And that is a stretch.

Just b/c you say that there are two teams that are the best in the country doesn't mean I'm saying it. I don't think a team that would run the table in the SEC this year should be ranked out of the top 2. USC looked good against a team that Richmond should have beat and a team that Ohio should have beat. Their toughest games left are against a down conference that got dominated last week by I believe the Mountain West. Arizona St. is decent, Oregon might be decent, so what will USC have proven this year? On the other hand if Georgia, Florida, or LSu run the table they will have beaten some good teams. If you want to go w/ past history SEC teams and USC win BCS games. Oklahoma doesn't.

 

I don't think it's going to matter though b/c I doubt anyone can run the table in the SEC. Too many good teams and too many tough games.
