I bought it this morning...It is better than St Anger but still doesn't touch the first four albums...IMO that is...It seems to meet half the way...

Nothing will compare to the first few albums, I think we all need to realize that fact.

That's why I am more of a Slayer fan than I am a Metallica fan...From there first album in 83 to there last album in 06...Stayer stayed true to all Metal Heads...:ylsuper:

All slayer fans know all Slayer Music...

These days most Metallica fans still think the black album was there first album...:creepy:

Hey Jim...No radio hits here...The songs are all to long...:thumb:I have to say Rick Rubin has done his job...I believe that the more the oldschooler listens to this album the more respect it will get...Meaning the more it stays away from the main stream the more it will not get taken advantage of...

I love the Day that never comes, and Judas Kiss is also very good in my book. I haven't purchased a CD in quite some time (over 5 years) but I will probably grab this one even though I can catch one of their songs every 10 minutes or so on Sirius. Hopefully the XM merger comes soon, I would love to have the Metallica channel.

At this point listening to two cats yowl in heat for 71 and half minutes would be better than every album they have put out since the Black album.

Are you serious? Load and ReLoad have some pretty good songs on there. Until It Sleeps, Hero of the Day, Fuel, The Memory Remains, The Unforgiven II, Prince Charming, Low Man's Lyric.... These are all great songs.

I think Las Ulrich and Metallica has done a good job putting down the whole "Metalica is not for Napster or Morpheus" phase. They have a huge 'front all over you tube. Of course they are pushing their new stuff, but I think they are getting back with the old Metalica that we all know and love.

I'm up and down about Unforgiven III....

I love the album though... I'm so glad Lars' drums don't sound like he's hitting pots and pans.

Was waiting to see what everyone says about it before I got it.

By any other band, they would be great songs. But considering the groundwork that Metallica laid with those first four, those songs are just average in comparison.

I admit it's my own problem I couldn't listen to them for what they were, but the impression I remember having with Load and Re-Load was that the band was going through the motions, ho-hum.

This new album really feels like they cared and actually showed some "guts" when putting the new songs together. Something I haven't seen since the old days.

I probably wouldn't have given it a second thought but you all talked me into listening to it.

I'm somewhat intrigued, but it's hard for a guy for whom Metallica died back in 1990. :D

Rick Rubin remains a fantastic producer, however.
