September 19, 200817 yr For all of you big Metallica fans out there, I have a question. What do you all think of the Live CD with the San Francisco Symphony? I'm not a huge fan of the band in general but I do like some of their stuff, this CD on the other hand I think is absolutely amazing. I could listen to it for days over and over.

I own the DVD. I thought the original songs with the symphony were the best - "No Leaf Clover" and "- Human."

September 22, 200817 yr Listening to the album as I type this (thanks to Adopted Admiral). My review is as follows: EVEN Jim Schue has got to like this one. It definitely rocks!! No Problem! I have been a disgruntle Metallica fan since the release of the black album...I still remember the video release of Enter Sandman a few days before the album came out and I was very disappointed...So I got the album, and over all I didn't mind it,I actually kind of liked it except for enter sandman...After a while the popularity of the album grew and I got sick of the album even though I didn't mind the songs they never made a video to... Then the load 1 and 2 years came along...All I heard Metallica say is the new albums are going to sound like the older stuff...That they were going back to the Ride the Lightning sound...That was a big Lie...I have to say that over ten years have gone since the release of those albums and I can tolerate them now... Next St.Anger...Once again my hopes are up...Is this going to be the one that gives me back my love for Metallica again?NO!!!Not a bad album just not a Metallica album...Here is a band that has one of the best metal guitar soloist of all time and not one guitar solo on the whole album... News of Rick Rubin going to produce the next Metallica album... For the first time in eighteen years there is hope that Metallica will find there way back home... I buy Death Magnetic on its release day...And I must say I was very skeptical I mean I have been fooled for so long...My only hope is that Rick Rubin can turn this sinking ship around...And IMO He has do just that... This album is the missing link between Justice and Black... All I can say is Buy this album...And lets hope they stay away from the Radio stations and Music videos...:ylsuper:
September 22, 200817 yr I've been jamming "All Nightmare Long" all day... That is one Jamming song...:ylsuper:
September 23, 200817 yr I love the first four albums, and the Black album also is very good, just more mainstream.
September 25, 200817 yr I just got my copy on Vinyl today...It rocks on CD...It kicks butt on Vinyl ...:ylsuper:

I think I will go out tomorrow and buy it based in large part to the positive response it has been receiving on this thread. I just hope that it is not another album that seems to be a lyrical therapy session for Hetfield. Even more so, I hope he does not try to "sing" like the last few albums!!

I can't guarantee you will like it alot from your first Listen...It took me a couple of listens...The lyrics are more about Death/Dying young/Layne Staley... Remember I am Old school...And All of My Old School Friends love it...:ylsuper: Also Bob Rock had nothing to do with this album...King Rick Rubin made this one happen...
