Vince Young's mental status?

I've said he's a head case ever since he started a team brawl while everyone else called him a leader...

I think that's called stupidity.

You think?

I would say his "friends/family" that initially called the police are the fruitcakes. I'm glad my wife and family don't call for a manhunt every time I'm gone without my cell phone for a couple of hours...

For the Titans to have called the police so quickly, it makes you wonder if there have been other incidents that would cause them to question his state of mind.

From what I understand the friends / family did not call the police. They contacted team officials and it was the Titans who called the police regarding the situation.

Dude has some issues...

The Nashville Tennessean reports Vince Young on Monday "indicated to those around him he didn't want to play football any more." The Titans may be planning to move on without him.

This isn't the first time we've heard this from Young. And "there are indications" the team is ready to move forward with Kerry Collins, even when Young gets healthy. And that assumes Young even wants his job back. Young's mother, rightly concerned, pleaded for people to give her son "space" and "love." But it won't be so simple. A psychologist reported Young was "extremely depressed" and one wonders when he'll see the field again."

If Vince Young walks away this quickly, it will only cement the error the Titans made in picking Young, and the fans will take a very long time to forgive them for not taking the hometown boy Cutler.

He was Mike Vick 2.0 why did they think he would be any different. This game is not made for scrambling QBs.

So, he gets injured, possibly faces missing an entire season depending on an MRI result, mind you a season that he's spent 8 months preparing for, and now he's mentally unstable because he goes to a friends house without his cell phone?

Okay.

I'm sure there is more to it than that.

There's a reason his friends/coach were worried about him.

^ This most recent news certainly confirms that.

Crazy. I was never aware that he almost retired after his first season....

I guess I look at him as a human being before a Pro QB in this one. I know he got paid millions but I think the pressure has just gotten too him. It seems like not only his he not having fun playing, he is mentally falling apart from the stress and criticism. He is such a talent and I think they have tried to make him play a style that doesn't fit his skill set. To me if he is that unhealthy mentally then he needs to walk away from the game. Everything I've ever heard on him is that he is a big time team guy and good guy off the field. I know he has flown his WR's down to see where he is from and spend time getting to know each other off the field. This story made me look at him in a different light:

I think it might have been a fathers day but he was riding along in a limo or something and saw several dad's out in their yard passing ball with their young sons. He made the driver pull over and asked if he could pass with them (this was in Texas). They all about died and said of course. He spent quality time with all of them passing ball, playing around, signed autographs and took pictures just on a whim. I thought that was pretty cool!

Maybe it was already mentioned, but according to this they've signed Chris Simms....
