No. His time has come and gone. He was essentially given "GM-like" control of the team for 4 years and did nothing more than make the Bengals a mediocre team. He's a good guy and a good defensive coordinator, but not a head coach. There are simply some people that aren't cut out to be head coaches, and he's one of them. Come the end of this year, he will have a sub-500 record with the Bengals.

QB is terrible are you crazy? :madman:

I think I could pass for more than 99 yards in a game and I played RB/FS in high school.

With the Bengals O-Line? You really think so?

His rating was 35.2. Manning, Brady, Favre and other elite QB's would have a higher rating with no offensive line - just a center to snap the ball. I mean, 35.2, come on.

You can't exclude Mike Brown from the equation when analyzing Marvin Lewis. No coach is going to succeed in a situation where they're being undermined by their owner.

I think Marvin Lewis is a good coach. If Mike Brown was competent, I think Marvin Lewis would be successful in Cincinnati.

And that's not what I was asking.

I asked given the current setup, is Marvin the right man?

It's not if Mike Brown weren't here would Marvin be the right man.

As long as Mike Brown is there, there isn't a right man.

Perhaps there is a coach out there that would be a perfect fit and work great with Brown...it's obviously not Marvin, so I guess the answer is no.

That's why I voted yes. Given the current setup, who else would take this job? Shula, Coslett, Lebeau? With the current setup "ownership" that's about the best your gonna get. I'll take Lewis, but he will probably leave on his own very shortly.

The o-line is the worst in the NFL, and there RB situation isn't much better. Carson is not the problem, but there is no excuse for only having 99 yds passing. We won't have to worry about Carson if they don't do something with the o-line because he's going to be dead. Now back to the thread this will be Marvin's last season if he makes it through the full season IMO.

I don't believe that any pocket passer would have had a much better game on Sunday. Every play he was forced to get rid of it before being able to check down to other receivers. The time he hit Utecht for a big first down Utecht dropped it. W/out an Oline no QB would have been able to do anything. As to this thread I believe that Marvin Lewis is not the man. Besides Uncle Mike pulling the strings, Marving let this ship go awry when he didn't put the smack down on CJ and his antics from the beginning. His credibility was already lacking before the re-signing of Henry.

Let's see ... do we want to go back to the days of losing all of the time or .500 when Lewis has been here.

He can't help who the owner is.

Boy, this thread's question makes me laugh.

Let's see, let's go ahead and hire Dave Shula again, boys.

Is there really a difference? They're still not making the playoffs and contending for a title.

Keep him...The longer Marvin is in Cincy, the longer you dont have to worry about the Bengals winning the North.
