I'm going to say both Cov Cath deffinately Out played Ncc secondary, but coach Schneider kept throwing the long ball even tho Kues constantly kept over throwing them.

I would say more of the Breds being worn down, but Brossart did coach very well.

After being down 20-0 it was great to see some heart from the Colonels and put the ball in the end zone before the half. This being my first game of the year, and not knowing much about this team, I will say this:

1. The catch and run by #9 Van Sant with the cutback across the field for the TD was absolutely fantastic and what a nice little block at the end zone by I think #18 to let Van Sant run in without any trouble.

2. The long run by #42 Deters down the sideline was amazing. At about the 20 he was running toe to toe to I think # 10 from NCC and got pushed towards the sideline but maintained his balance and tip toed into the endzone and that right there made me say WOW!

3. NCC has a tough bunch of kids and the Kelly brothers are tough, hard nosed runners. I love that about them. They are like machines and just keep pounding the ball. They definately don't go down on first contact.

4. NCC's QB is also a great athlete. He has a beautiful spiral and is a key weapon to have. To me, he played great and with a lot of guts.

Overall, a great High School football game to be at, and a game I love to watch every year. Let's keep this game going.

Man it seemed Cov Cath the second half never gave up and knew they were going to win. Their sidelines stayed pumped and they just kept cheering. It seemed the leader on the side line that kept the spirits up was number 69. He just didn't stop all game.

With just a little under 2:00 minutes left in the second quarter, it looked like CovCath was going to get blown out of the game, but the CovCath "O" behind Isler, VanSant and Robinson refused to quit and Coach Brossart open up the "O" and CovCath scored it's first TD and point of the season to end the first half down 20-6.

NCC for what ever reason that I can't explained started to throw the ball play after play instead of running the ball down the CovCath "D" throat and the CovCath "O" after scoring at the end of the first half started to believe in themselves.

Isler was amazing in the second half and VanSant long TD run was a thing of beauty running from one side of the field to the other, but the play of the game, maybe even the play of the season (and one of the best catches I have ever seen a HS player make) was Michael Robinson one handed catch as he was falling down backward. It was a outstanding catch, but to make that catch in the rain with a slick ball, well WOW!

The good:

Isler, VanSant and Robinson refused to lose! Those three young men played the game tonight than most CovCath fan know they can play and should play each and every game.

The "O" line in giving Isler the time to throw the ball and making some outstanding blocks.

The bad....

Three fifteen yard personal fouls and a fourth call on Coach Brossart. You can't give teams this much help.

The "D" needs to step up to the plate and stop the run. I will give the "D" some slack, as they completely changed the "D" this week from a three man front to a four man front.

Great game and a fun game to watch even in the rain......

Listen to the archives of the CovCath vs. NewCath.

Michael Robinson had the greatest/clutchest catch I have ever seen!

Great game. Very fun to watch. NCC blew two leads. CCH never gave up and yes I have to agree with love the game, #69 is crazy on that sideline.

Isler owned on both sides of the ball. Robinson's catch was insane, parallel to the ground one handed. CCH never gave up and there's no doubt in my minf that NCC was out coached in the second half. If your NCC why do you stop running the ball with Kues, and the Kelly's. There is no way NCC should have lost this game.

You know when people exaggerate about a great high school play and blow it up to more than it was?

They're not tonight. Michael Robinson's catch was the best high school catch I've ever seen and that's without adding in the clutch factor. CCH loses without the catch. I said in a previous thread that the two guys with legit speed on CCH are PVS and Robinson. They both proved that tonight.

PVS had about 15 tackles and I'm guessing anywhere from 100 to 150 yards receiving. The impressive thing is that they passes were short and he turned them into big-time plays. He trucked an NC kid near the goal line on his 2nd TD.

Kues is the best qb in NKY IMO. Why NCC got away from letting him carry it is beyond me. He simply owned the CCH D. The one downside to his game tonight was that he didn't put enough air under the ball on 3 definite TD passes to #82. I don't remember if they eventually scored on all 3 but...

The CCH D is not anywhere near where they need to be. Not close. The first half could have been one of the worst tackling shows I've seen in a long time.

The good and the bad are not as important as the positive mojo the boys bring out of this. Its not an exaggeration that this was a "season saving" win. With some of the interesting calls tonight Dave B was not going to fare well had they not been victorious.

Great high school atmosphere.

Two things that I take away from this game:

1) Pat Van Sant is a freak. He's nasty.

2) Michael Robinson's catch is the best catch I have ever seen. Especially since it came when it did. Absolute clutch performance.

Also, good job by the CovCath coaching staff in making adjustments throughout the game.

I was left speechless by these two guys' performances.

I couldn't believe what I saw.

To quote one of the players on the sidelines, "The moves Pat (Van Sant) is doing aren't gonna be available on Madden until 2012"

His first TD did have a Madden feel to it. I bet he covered 90 yards.

Not at all. Going 0-2 with a butt kicking and a L to a AA school, the rest of the year could get ugly. This win really helped to prevent that for CovCath.

Well seeing as in Ohio 2A is actually a larger school. In Kentucky it is from smallest -1 to largest -6. Ohio goes backwards Smallest -6 Largest -1. So an expected loss there. Good luck with the rest of the season

Not expected by any means at all.

And yes, Michael Robinson's catch was not only the best catch I have ever seen in person, It's in my top 20 of all time that I've ever seen on TV or live. The defender almost had him in perfect position as Michael was falling down reaches with his single hand, curls the ball in, and with the defender falling on him, still maintains to hold on to the ball. Oh yeah and it was about a 30 yard catch no 12 yard crap lol.

Van Zant or however you spell it had to have close to 200 yards receiving.

The catch was literally the best I have ever seen. Even if you take out the clutchness of it, being 3rd and 13 or whatever it was, there was a defender in fron and behind him it was underthrown he turned around and cupped it in his one free arm and fell to the round with it, absolutely amazing, and no doubt they more than likely lose the game if it is not for that catch.
