Wow, CCH ran off 32 second half points. Who handles the Defense for NCC?

20-6 NewCath Half I believe

My bad, 77-6 ha.

LOL you were close enough. They got that just before half.

CCH rolled up 475+ yards of offense....mostly in 2nd half. Isler was 19-28 for like 340 according to the radio.

The drive before halftime was the most important drive of the CCH season. Once they got confidence, they scored 5 TDs on NCC's D in the 2nd half.

I agree with the poster above who said this saved the CCH season. Not necessarily if they would have lost, but how they were losing 20-0 with what looked like a slaughter in the 1st half.

Coach Brossart said on the radio it was the greatest game he has ever been a part of.

...especially if Conner is not able to come back to the level he played at pre-injury.
Heard on the radio that his rehab starts tomorrow. :thumb:

Wow, I am shocked by this outcome, the way the update thread was going.

This came down to 3 things.

1. CovCath took this from NewCath. NewCath had this game won as deep as 1:00 left and CovCath's #15 made one of the most amazing catches that I have ever seen. That was the story of the second half. Time and again Isler and the passing game made plays and NewCath's pass d did not (I am not going to count Parr in that statement as he was the victim of tremendous coverage being outshone by an tremendous catch). The whole second half CovCath took it right to NewCath. Had CovCath kept their foot on the gas and stayed in the no-huddle they may have blown this game out of the water. NewCath's LB had a very, very difficult time finding #9 crossing the field. Isler to Van Sant all night. I do not want to be a LB in films tomorrow. CovCath did a great job exploiting the size mismatch with Rawe at CB. Nate did what he could but #15 had him by at least 6 inches. It took the whole 3rd quarter for NewCath to adjust.

2. Depth was a major factor. On the drive at the end of the 1st half, NewCath's starters were sucking wind. CovCath's players going one way really aided them.

3. Isler had the game of his life and deserves to be congratulated. In the 2nd half everything he threw was on the money. Kues from NewCath had a great game as well. He had to have had over 100 yards rushing and if not for a few key drops, would have put up some pretty nice passing numbers.

Great comeback by the Colonels. They made the plays. I will say this, their run defense is terrible. If they do not sure that up, they will not make it as far as they should, as they have the talent. NewCath will be right there as well. They had a major weakness exploited and w/ Ryle coming up next week, it won't get any easier. This is when good teams make adjustments, NewCath's D will be completely different next week.

CovCath could have throw to #9 every single play and won by 20.

How he didn't win "KR Sports POTG" is beyond me. He single handedly dominated the 2nd half.

I agree NCC's pass D was a complete joke.

Two things that I take away from this game:

1) Pat Van Sant is a freak. He's nasty.

2) Michael Robinson's catch is the best catch I have ever seen. Especially since it came when it did. Absolute clutch performance.

Also, good job by the CovCath coaching staff in making adjustments throughout the game.

This is game should have been completey different. When it was 20-6 NCC should have kept running it with Rob Kues and the Kelly brothers, who had been breaking ten yard runs at a time. Then they could have controlled the clock and kept the score at bay.

On the other hand though I do agree, Pat is a freak and that catch was clutch.

Sounds like a fun high school football game to be at.

What was the catch like? Michael is an athletic kid....

One handed, falling backwards, and with a defender in his face. It was pretty good coverage except the defensive back didn't turn his head around
