Palin hit it out of the park, living up to and exceeding some very high expectations.

 

You don't have to agree with her policies or opinions, but you can't deny that she's legitimate.

I agree that she was superb tonight. When the talking heads on CNN are blown away, it is good news!!!

Sarah articulated the differences between Obama and mainstream America with absolute precision. She took on the Democratic attacks directly and answered any doubts about her abilities. She clearly spelled out an agenda that will take America to energy independence, economic health, smaller government, and greater security.

 

But I think the night was won, not by Sarah, but by her little daughter in the audience. The hand lick was priceless! :lol:

 

Good points all. The Republicans needed something from the convention tonight that will have people "talking around the water cooler" tomorrow. Palin's speech definitely delivered.

You've got to wonder if Guiliani's speech negated that bump.

Priceless imagery with the family, especially the little girl.

The quip about her being a mayor is like a community organizer, only with real responsibilities was fantastic.

She dissected Obama like no one else has been able to and she did it very cleverly.

She endeared herself to many independents tonight.

Remember, Obama needs the female vote particularly the 40 and over bloc, and before tonight, he is failing miserably.

She did great and eased some fears, but as one pundit said, she has only hit a home run in the first inning.

 

One other item...if you are going to smear an opponent in politics, you do it after they have made a major speech. The Dems have erroredin going after her too soon. She blunted that attack tonight and has turned the tables.

 

One last item, I think Obama's Campaign is making an error in trying to tie him to Bush. They are chasing a decoy.

Nah... Rudy's Rudy. As funny as a couple of his lines were, he pales by comparison to Palin's delivery tonight.

I'll admit going into tonight's speech, I was nervous that it could be a disaster, but wow, what a speech. I was energized, and don't think anyone is going to question her toughness anymore.

I was about to say something very similar. I'll admit that, coming into the speech, I was a little unsure about McCain's choice. Now I have no reservations, and feel energized and optimistic about the campaign.

 

My favorite part was that she not only talked about making changes in Washington, but that she gave examples and specifics of what they would be doing.

Specifics like that are something we haven't gotten from the other side.

Frankly I am glad that it worked out that Palin and McCain are speaking on separate nights (hurricane could have caused them to both speak concurrently). Because if McCain was speaking 30 minutes after her, I am not sure he could have done better tonight. A real tough act to follow.

:thumb: I agree Birdsfan. She did a heck of a job tonight. McCain made the right choice and all of America saw that tonight. Sarah's daughter looks as if she has a little of momma's fight in her as well. Great looking family.
