You do remember correctly. I had the good fortune to see a lot of the good things Big Ern was getting done that the general public did not get to see. He was not the man the media and his political adversaries made him out to be.. I would prefer another 4 years of Big Ern to Mr. Beshear, but that's the way it goes.

 

See, this is where we are different. I was very familiar with the Fletcher administration and I'm not a liberal, Democrat, uninformed, whatever you want to call it. I didn't say the Big Ern would lose because I'm a partisan (I campaigned for him :scared:, though I didn't vote for him); I saw a guy run a miserable campaign right out of the gate and I knew voters wouldn't pull the lever for him. As a long time John McCain supporter, I'm starting to see the same cards stack up.

 

There's no way Obama/Biden beat McCain/Palin this go around. No way.

Campbell Brown had a much different tone tonight and even said that she identified with her as she began to talk about her family.

 

As the men on CNN said it wouldn't play, Campbell called them out and basically said it is only a thing a mother would understand.

 

I agree, and I am sure they were all on pins and needles hoping for a disaster tonight. If Wolf Blitzer says "a star was born" that is all you need to know... If the CNN panel is impressed, it was a home run.

Rudy's best point of the night was on an interview after Palin's speech by Andrea Mitchell on NBC.

 

She asked if it was smart to attack O when he had 18 million votes.

 

Rudy pointed out that HIllary also had 18 million votes. They were a split party and he could never put her away.

 

But on the Republican side, HE said that McCain beat them all and rather handily. ]

 

The Reps are a unified party while the Dems are a split party.

Fletcher's campaign did stink.

 

He put some very good people in some very important positions who got some very needed things done.

I agree with the potential danger in some of the remarks that are of an attacking nature; however, I watched the DNC convention and witnessed much of the same in that one. Also, history has shown that "going negative" can actually be effective in some instances. Who knows.. We'll just have to wait and see.

Middle America is somewhat conservative. McCain and Palin are not courting the liberal votes. Sarah Palin will be very effective in rural areas of states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio. She could follow Joe Biden on the campaign trail and pick up votes at every stop.
