So he's the best player in the league. Good for him. I have not read the article, so I don't know how "competitive" the league is supposed to be, but at 9 years old I think everyone can play together. It makes everyone better. But my original post was directed towards the opposing teams & their coaches. This kid is teaching 9-year old kids how to play baseball? What kind of coach is that? He's "leading" this kids?
August 26, 200818 yr Maybe the boy should play against better competition. This looks more like a recreational league for boys/girls with minimal skills. If the boy is this talented, he needs to be playing against better competition.
August 26, 200818 yr This is a joke. What is the kid suppose to do, not play? He's already playing with older kids. Should a 4th grader be playing with middle school kids? Let the kid play ball with his friends. Based on the time of year, this probably is just a recreational league as most seasons are over now for this age.

August 26, 200818 yr Seems funny no one had a problem until they were 8-0. If they would make the parents drop the kids off and pick them up after the game alot of youth sports leagues would be much better off.

August 26, 200818 yr Why don't they move him up to a division where kids can actually hit off of him. Heck, bring him to Ft. Thomas, I'm sure Sticky will find a spot for him.
August 26, 200818 yr Yeah but how far do you move him up until it becomes dangerous for him to pitch. He may not be able to field the ball well enough to let 12 year old hit off him. So you could be putting him at a serious risk. Most 12 year old pitchers throw over 40 anyways.
August 26, 200818 yr You've got to be kidding me! First of all, 40 mph is not that fast for a 9 year old, 60 mph is, but not 40. Heck, our youth league 7-8 year olds hit off of a 38 mph pitching machine. Maybe if he is throwing breaking pitches, but a 40 mph fastball is no big deal to most 9 year olds, at least those that I know! Secondly, God forbid someone might be better than someone else's kid. Give me a break, if he's that dominant, then the others better catch up or not play baseball. If they see him enough, they will eventually hit him.
