August 25, 200818 yr Will Moss. not come here and Hartline transfer after this season with Newton's announcement? Was looking forward to Mossakowski and Hartline next season, Newton looked like a Woodson clone, very stiff and robotical in the pocket, he had some nice runs but don't see that happening in the SEC. I guess all in all a new lose situation, but what if Hartline really impresses and I think he will?
August 25, 200818 yr Highly unlikely a true frosh will come in and start next year. Hartline will be a Jr this year correct? I believe he's also used his redshirt year, so I can't see him transferring anywhere

He did take a redshirt year as a frosh, and used his first year of eligibility last season.

August 25, 200818 yr I say he red shirts for a year, learns as a back up or maybe gets some work as redshirt freshman, then takes the reins his soph year
August 25, 200818 yr Between Newton, Moss and Hartline there will be an odd man out. I see it as being Moss only because he has another option (the whole baseball thing). Newton probably red shirts next season and Hartline gets the next 3 years including this one as the Cats QB, IMO.
August 25, 200818 yr If Hartline has a good year, he should be able to win the starting job again next season. If not, then the job will be wide open between him, Newton and Mossakowski IMO.

I do not think Morgan Newton or his father are thinking about redshirting next season.

I think Newton should redshirt next year because it could give him 3 years of elgibility when he gets the chance to start. Hartline is in the fact the starter for the next 3 years. Newton will be giving the chance to take the starting job away from Hartline but I just don't see it happening. I think he'll redshirt and I think Hartline will have a successful season!

He hasn't even started one game. We have no clue how he will do.
August 25, 200818 yr This thread was mean't for Mossakowski and Hartline but alot of people think Newton is better than Mossakowski. IMO I do think Newton is better and more of play maker just because of his speed, size and strength. I think this kid could get up to 230-240 lbs, or even bigger, with his 6'5 frame by the time of his senior year. I can see Newton doing some big things in the SEC before his time is done.

What you are describing is an Andre Woodson clone.
