August 31, 200818 yr But the kid is currently only in high school. If you don't think he'll get better in college and thus be better equipped to face the SEC schools, I think you're wrong. There are very, very few athletes that due to additional maturing, conditioning and coaching given them in college, don't improve athletically when they go to college. And that improvement does include speed. I saw Clyde's comment about what he'll face from all 11 in college. I think one needs to keep in mind that the other 10 players he'll play with in college also will be much better than the other 10 players he's playing with in high school. :thumb:
August 31, 200818 yr The thing about Moss is even if he skips the MLB he could always eventually make his way onto a club through a farmclub tryout, or signing or whatever. Baseball is about the only sport in which you can be out for a little while but still come back and make an impact. Happend with Josh Hamilton, happened with numerous others, so maybe this is also in Moss' mind maybe making him commited to the UK football program. Possibly he comes in and pulls a Jeff Samardzija and plays both for UK, improving his baseball stock even more, all the while getting some football in as well.
September 1, 200818 yr Hartline will be the starting QB, unless he fails this year. Even if he does struggle this season, you'd think he'd have the advantage coming into next year. I think Hartline will be the #1, and then Cobb, Newton & Moss will compete for the #2. I'd open it up to everyone, and let them fight it out in the spring and in practice. I think either Moss or Newton should redshirt - especially if they're not going to start or be the #2.

His foot speed is not going to improve as much as the foot speed of the 11 he'll be facing. Yes, his 10 teammates will be better than what he has now but that's not going to make him faster. This kid is a drop-back qb IMO and will not be a runner.
