December 11, 200817 yr No, CC. I thought CC had Mr. Theatrical refereeing every game? When he blows the whistle he calls out the violation louder than any ref I have ever seen. The gym gets quiet and all you hear is this rotund guy barking out the violation. Its pretty comical.
December 11, 200817 yr I remember my son's grade school team played them in 5th grade and we won like 28-21 and Nussbaum had every point for Beechwood. Dayton Tourney Brackets are out. It looks like there are two separate divisions an A and B. Teams in the A division are Summit View, Highlands, Turkeyfoot, St. Joe, CC Purple, Twenhofel, St. Mary and Woodland. Opening games are Highlands/Summit View, Turkeyfoot/St. Mary, Twenhofel/CC purple and Woodland/St. Joe. Do they have a web site or something "Q", I'd like to take a look at the other division and see date/times?

They play St. Mary's on Sunday. There are also teams from Highlands, Turkeyfoot, Woodland and Twenhofel to name a few, in the "B" bracket.

December 12, 200817 yr Author Northern over Meece 6th, Meece over Northern 7th, and Northern over Meece 8th. The program at Meece seems to be really struggling, especially the 8th grade and lately the 6th grade.
December 12, 200817 yr Highlands 8th over St. Therese in the St. Catherine Holiday tournament 50 to 15. They looked much much better tonight many baskets in transition and extra hustle. They move to the finals vs. St. Cath colts. Should be a great game on Sunday night.

They've beaten Gray twice, Camp Ernst twice and Twenhofel. They still have another game left with Twenhofel and Camp Ernst as well as games with Ockerman, RA Jones and Conner.

Gray has a solid team but Deters, their big kid is the catalyst. You take him off the court and they are average. Deters is the real deal though, goes around 5'10 and is a solid 175lbs. He can handle it in the open court and has a sweet move in the lane. Nice motor too while on the floor. I didnt see Conner but a friend did and he said they are well coached and long/athletic. One other NKY 7th grade team I saw that I thought was decent was Twenhofel. They are good sized and play hard and disciplined.

Maybe they are getting wore out before the third game??? Turn-overs almost blew for Summit along with the missed layups and 10 foot shots... Holmes Saturday morning, they better get it right by then... 8th grade Summit over Holmes 39-35 Not a pretty game by Summit, but some nice play by Yanke coming off the bench at the end, and a very good shooting day for Jackson with 17, I believe. So when needed, the rest of the team steps up. 7th grade Holmes over Summit 59 to 17 I beleive Shocking score in the 8th grade. I think Summit's 8th grade team is head and shoulders above the rest of the NKMSBL. This just goes to show, that's why the game is played. I still look for Summit to go undefeated and claim the NKMSBL Championship.
