One of the ugliest games I've ever seen. Summit was short handed (Sampson had an illness) and played uninspired. Ugly, but still a "W" I guess.

It was bad... Summit seemed to be waiting for the big run that never happened... Ref's were ok, just an ugly game! Summit had two players not there and Pouncy was getting over an illness... They looked a little sleepy.

Kinda like the Birds tonight in the Dayton Tourney. Congrats to Summit View on the victory over Highlands. I am convinced they are the best team in the League. Swanson goes to the basket harder than anybody in NKY. He made great decisions with the ball in the lane tonight with several nice shots and several very nice assists. Pouncy hit a couple 3's in the 2nd half and extended the lead. Birds pulled to within 11 late in the game but still didnt show any sense of urgency. Too many turnovers by the Birds, they just hand the other team the ball sometimes. Not much defense by the Birds, they are in for a rude awakening if they think the High School coach is going to put up with that kind of effort. Inspired basketball is what Summit View brings and I wish we could see that from the Birds. Summit View has a nice ballclub and are well coached. Good luck the rest of the tourney.

 

Highlands plays Turkeyfoot tomorrow and Summit view advances to play St. Mary.

I love watching the Swanson kid play the game of basketball.

I got to watch him last night against Sharp and have watched him play alot of AAU ball.

He may not have the most talent but he is the hardest worker in NKY and plays the game the right way! He is a hustler! All over the court and doing things for the team that doesn't show up in the stat book. He will be one I keep my eye on in High school.

does anyone know who won the Twenhofel/Campbell Co. game?

They will however be short-handed for about four weeks losing both Centers (grades?) Jackson and Yanke will be out... Others will definitely have to step it up for that time.... How is the St. Mary's team, haven't seen them this year.

They will however be short-handed for about four weeks losing both Centers (grades?) Jackson and Yanke will be out... Others will definitely have to step it up for that time.... How is the St. Mary's team, haven't seen them this year.

 

St. Marys hasnt changed much in 3 yrs. They play pretty solid defense and depend on Saunders for their offense. They scrap and get a lot of loose balls and can get some easy baskets off of that but other than that they struggle offensively. I would expect a low scoring affair as they will put you to sleep with their patience on offense.

I missed the game but heard Summit lost... I was told by sources that Summit got away from their game and had too much one on one... They are a very good team when they play team ball... If they don't results like today will happen... Wondering how big of a loss Jackson is right now...

Wow, that throws a monkey wrench into the bottom bracket. With that said, Highlands whipped Turkefoot today 40-25. They shut the Indians out in the first period jumping out to a 12-0 lead. They were up by 25 at one point and had to call off the dogs. Apparently Dayton Tournament rules are if your up 20 you cant press. WOW !!!! Subs played most of the last period which is why the score wasnt as bad as it could have been. I still cant believe the Birds lost to Turkeyfoot 2 weeks ago.

 

In the earlier game Campbell Co beat St. Joe's in OT 52-49. It was a good game.

Not really, St Mary is good as are a few other of the private schools. Conner and Tichenor have lost more than once to private schools already, it just does not get much pub here.
