The big boys across the river won't play the NKY 6A teams..Ohio plays by a point system and it does them no good to play these types of teams...:thumb:

I don't believe that's true. If they can schedule a good NKY 6A team that they figure that they can beat it will be a boon to their Harbin points. Its why Moeller went to Henderson County a year or two ago. Beat the KY team. Let the KY team then rack up 7 or 8 wins and collect the points.

It was actually a home and home serious with Moeller beating Hendo soundly up there and the game at Henderson Co getting rained out.

There is no way a Kentucky school can play with either one of these teams. Or a lot of other teams in Cincinnati for that matter. It's a whole different level of football.

Whatever. We have beaten Elder before and lost to X twice in the 4th qtr. We can play with those teams. Might not always win, but we can play with them.

GO ROCKS!!!!!!!!

Cincy teams like to play teams like Highlands, assuming they beat Highlands then Highlands goes on to win 8-9 games helps them out. And if the Cincy teams played any NKY team not named Highlands or CovCath it would be Ugly.

Wow..this is a fun discussion.

Yeah, we won the game. Yeah, it was ugly. However, Colerain started 4 sophomores and 9 juniors. When the injured playes get back, that number jumps to 14 underclassmen.

As has been stated, we are very young and very inexperienced. We did not look good on Friday and as far as how does this team stack up against teams in the past 10 years...it doesn't, plain and simple. This team would have lost to any team from 2000 on. Can't comment on the 1999 squad as I really don't remember them well although their 6-4 record would indicate they weren't very good.

The game with Highlands will be fun. And even if Colerain does win the Varsity contest, there is always the JV game the following morning @ Highlands! With all of our underclassmen playing up on Varsity, you should have your way with our JV team. St. Xavier certainly did....31-0!

Also, Trinity/St. Xavier is going to be fun to watch. I think the Rocks revenge last year's second half collapse and send the Blue Bombers home to Cincy with a loss. Any way that game is going to be webcast anywhere??

I will be back to discuss Highlands more as we get closer. Right now, we need to get ready for the 4th ranked team in PA, the McKeesport Tigers.

I STILL say you are a SANDBAGGER!! You just beat the nations #7 team...and you "did not look good on Friday" ???? PUH-LEEEEEASE! (LOL)

First of all, that St. Xavier team was no where near the #7 ranked team in the country. They got that ranking because of past success and their schedule. They shouldn't have appeared on anyone's radar for top 25 in the country. Hell, they don't belong in the top 50!

As for Colerain, we don't either. We are SOOOO young and SOOOOO inexperienced that mistakes were all over the field. Penalties, fumbles, missed assignments, you name it...we had it. That is why I said we didn't look good. We did not execute to the standard set for Colerain football.

Will we? I think so, but it will take some time. How long? Well, that's the fun of the season isn't it.

Again, I just hope we can keep it close vs. the Bluebirds.

That well may be...but I STILL think you're sandbaggin' !!

How did this thread become about Highlands, Cov Cath, and all of the other nky teams? I got on here to hear about Colerain and X. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Who cares about a point system and why OH beats KY teams? I just wanted to hear about Colerain and X! I guess from the little bit of discussion on here about the actual game, both teams played without starters and have a lot of young players. This is good and bad for both of them. We definitely did not see them fire on all cylinders and you can bet they will both improve by year's end. I think it will be a fun game to watch when the Birds travel up to Colerain.
