August 23, 200818 yr The black outs have been/are cool. The white out for the G-town basketball game was call. A red out is dorky, and nothing special. To be fair, UofL was one of the first schools to start this ____(insert color) out stuff. One black out a year is fine, this is overboard.

They kind of started it against West Virginia a couple years ago, right? It is pretty cool. In their stadium, though, red just doesn't really seem that intimidating.

I would agree with you if UL didn't sell just as many black and white shirts in local stores as red. In fact, I have at least one of each in my closet right now. This is especially the case in polo shirts, which are just as easy to find in black or white as they are in red. In my mind, especially given the design of many Louisville uniforms for several years now, black is as much an official color as red. It looks cool if the fans all wear one color during a particular game... but to suggest that we should all be wearing red anyway fits neither Louisville's current branding nor its long-standing marketing plan with regard to merchandise which, as I have said, is far from red-centric.

Who cares if it's a red-out, white-out, or black-out if everyone participates? I love how the criticism is constant, nit-picking even the "fun" for fans. I'm behind whatever sort of promo that they come up with. I want to be a part of the group that's in it altoghether. I won't be at the game, but I'll still be wearing red that day to show my unity with the rest of the fans. Please, find something worthy of criticism to talk about. This is silly.
