They can afford to give up those seats. Especially in Duke's case, they have a much smaller student population. Actully the enrollment at Duke and Notre Dame is very similar.

August 29, 200818 yr I would be nice to see them adopt a more student friendly ticket policy. At Notre Dame all students who want tickets are guarenteed a seat to all home games. About 15% of the stadium is student seating which is about the same amount as enrollment in the University. The students also get a large part of the 5,000 tickets that Notre Dame gets for each away game. Obviously not ever school can put the students first as Notre Dame does. It wouldn't work at Ohio State and many others. Now if we can just get all the blue hairs in the rest of the stadium to get out of their seats, Rock's house will be rockin'! :dancingpa The biggest factor isn't tradition. The money isn't mixed at ND, except for the athletic dept donating big $$$ to the school for academic purposes. BTW, Centre college in KY is about the same tuition as ND. Denison in Ohio is a little more. They are both D3.
