Top five players...

Featured Replies

In UK football history...who are they?

Do we want to pick the best five players during their career at UK or the five players from UK who had the best professional career?

It makes a big difference.

Craig Yeast anyone?

I would agree. When he graduated he was the all time leader in receptions, and 2nd in receiving yards.

In UK history, when they played for the Cats

He also played for the Bengals. He was with the Bengals from 1969-73 and with the Eagles from 1974-80--he was actually an AFL All-Star with the Bengals in 1969.

I didnt know that....I knew he had a good career with the Eagles

How about Joe Federspiel.

Sonny, Babe, Tim, Art, Bob Gain could I also add Dicky Lyons?

How could I forget Bob Gain? He deserves mention as well.

Might add Warren Bryant the OT from the Curci era as well. He was All-American I believe.

Oops, Hatz already said Bryant.

My personal faves, Tim Couch, Craig Yeast and Mo Williams

Senior,, I guess you never saw his old man play, if you did you wouldn't have asked.:D

It's too hard for me to pick just 5, but I can't believe nobody has mentioned Derrick Ramsey or Howard Schnellenberger.

Ramsey lead the cats to a record of 19-4 as quarterback in 1976 (9-3) and 1977 (10-1). He was 11-1 in the SEC (5-1 in 1976 and 6-0 in 1977). The 76 team was the last time Kentucky won the SEC, sharing the title with Georgia.

Nevermind the coach he became, Schnellenberger was a heck of a receiver.
