Still has a chance for a bronze. The third set went on forever. It was something like 9-8 when Blake seemed to have served one long and out of bounds. But Blake claimed it tipped Gonzales' racket and replays confirmed that it did. Blake was furious that Gonzales didn't acknowledge that he tipped the ball. He lost that game and the match by one point.

August 15, 200818 yr Hasn't Blake thrown immature fits before? I haven't seen the play and maybe he was essentially screwed over, but acting the way he did doesn't fix and/or solve anything.
August 15, 200818 yr Can't wait for track and field. I've had no problem whatsoever with not going out this week. Simply because it meant I got to watch the Olmypics every night.
August 15, 200818 yr It's good to hear Tom Hammond calling the track and field, but I don't think Willie Smith will be there with him.

Not really. It's not been his thing, and that's why I'm willing to give him a pass. I still remember the Lleyton Hewitt incident at the '01 US Open, when Hewitt went on a rant about a linesman he thought was hooking him because the linesman was black. Blake stayed pretty quiet about the whole thing, when he would've been perfectly justified to go off on Hewitt.

Okay, I didn't want to make a false accusation, I couldn't remember if I heard something in the past. Hopefully Blake will be able to bounce back in the US Open.

The thing is Blake would have for sure called it on himself. That's his point. He got jobbed and it probably cost him more mentally than that actual point.
