Goldie, any good ball players ever come out of Lee Co?:jump:

I will never forgot the night I first saw the Lee Co. 68 team play. It was at Hazel Green Acd. in Wolfe Co. They had Jimmy Hollon...who went on to play at Ala. and Lee Co had Larry Stamper (UK) and Park Congleton ( Old Domion) I thought that Larry was way over rated as the best player in that region, thought that Park looked much better than he did that night. The coach was so upset with their play that when they got back to Lee Co after the game, Coach Hubert Dunaway made them practice, before he would let them go home. Do that now...and boy would you have parents on your back....

Westwood has a population of 4,888.

Where is Westwood? It has more people than my county.

If Heber Dunaway knew you called him "Hubert"....ohhhhh!!! He'd drive to Winchester and make his former player run till his tongue was dragging the ground.:D

I always heard Larry married a nice looking cheerleader from Ezel.

I bet gold sunrise knows her.

Winchester is a small place....yes we have met...nice lady.;)

Bracken Co. does not have a stop light in it.

Depends on the definition. His father grew up in Gallatin and also graduated from Gallatin.

Funny how a school like Gallatin can consistently get kids to transfer from Sweet 16 teams to play at a school that has not won a region in 50 years or so! I suppoze someone put a buzz in Edmonson's ear that he needs to come on down to Gallatin and play for a real contender in stead of the wannabees like Covington Holmes!

How does a one-time occurrence qualify as "consistently?" You can probably count on one hand the number of impact transfers into GCHS over the past 50 years.

Robertson Co. dosesn't have a light or railroad.

Downtown Mt. Olivet has a flashing 4 way stop light in the center of town right next to the Integra Bank that was robbed by the blue eyed bandit. ;) They once had a old fashioned stop light that changed colors but that was replaced many years ago.

That is my point. Exactly.

Elliott county has no railroad or river in it. no major highways either.

Elliott County has the Little Sandy river which was impounded to form the Grayson reservoir. The following is from wikipedia:

The Little Sandy rises in southern Elliott County and flows generally north-northeastwardly in a meandering course through Elliott, Carter and Greenup Counties, past the towns of Sandy Hook and Grayson. It joins the Ohio River at Greenup.

I can also tell you that at one time Sandy Hook had a traffic light at the bottom of town hill where state routes 7 and 32 meet, but it was later removed.
