Shoes or no shoes?

Featured Replies

I have some friends who don't allow shoes to be worn in the house. We are considering going to this after new carpet is installed this month. What does everyone else do or think about this practice? If you are a guy, look down the next time you are at a urinal before you decide if it is better to remove your shoes before entering your house. What say you?

Just take your shoes off before using the urinal !!:creepy::lol:

We have hardwood floors throughout our house, but we still take our shoes off at the door. I don't ask guests to do the same, but they usually do anyway. I am also grossed out by the bottoms of shoes, and especially with a 10 month old crawling all over the place. I would never ask anyone to take off their shoes, though. If they are a guest in my home, I want them to be comfortable.

Just a habit, but I always pull mine off when I walk into the house.

When I grew up that was how it was at our house. We always had to take our shoes off before we came into the house.

So as a guest should you do as the owner does, or what is comfortable to you?

The first time someone had me take off my shoes would be the last time I was at that person's house. I have enough sense to know that people will wipe their feet off when they enter. If I am so sensitive that I'm more worried about dirt on my rug than I am with fellowship and conversation, I probably won't have many friends nor should I.

Its all about priorities and common sense.

I can't stand having my shoes off. I probably wouldn't come over much...

I just added new carpet, and the wife gets pretty PO'd when I wear my shoes past the door. I just put on a pair of flip flops which are much cleaner, and urinal free.

I think it would be rude to ask a guest to remove their shoes unless you live in Kyoto.

Si a Roma, fueres haz como vieres, or when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

We don't really bother with taking our shoes off a the door, sometimes we do. The kids hate their shoes on, so we dont have to worry about them with theirs on. But when you think about whats on the bottom of your shoes....YUCK.

No, I would never make this a rule. I, for one HATE wearing shoes. I go barefoot whenever I can.....however, not all people are like me. I have known many people who are not comfortable with thier shoes off, so, no, I would never do that at my house....and, when company is over, I do sometimes put shoes on LOL!

Ture, YUK! Maybe we could invent the no yuk shoe....somehow the bottom of the shoes are made to not pick up germs and such....Hey!!! We could get rich! LOL

Everytime I come up with one of these corney ideas, someone does it, and makes a ton of money doing it!
