August 4, 200818 yr Who is Brandon Johnson? He played at UofL, he has been a backup in Arizona the past few seasons.
August 4, 200818 yr Ask David Pollack how important it was to hold out for that last little bit he got of guaranteed money. :thumb: This first contract is about more than just playing football. Nobody knows how things will turn out once they get on the field...I don't blame any first round pick for holding out and getting exactly what they want. This happens frequently with Cincinnati. I think the organization needs to do a better job of signing their picks and getting them into camp.
August 4, 200818 yr Like to see the NFL go to something similar to what the NBA does with their rookies.
August 4, 200818 yr Like to see the NFL go to something similar to what the NBA does with their rookies. I agree but on a larger scale.
August 4, 200818 yr Carson claims Johnson is the MVP of camp so far. True or is he trying to send a message to Rivers? I hope both, I would think both would be a good thing?
August 4, 200818 yr I thought you were a Bengals' fan???? I am, I just haven't payed any attention to them all summer. I love the Bengals, but I do not get excited untill the last pre season game. Plus why watch the Bengals practice when you can watch the Reds lose!:thumb:
August 5, 200818 yr On a vaguely related note: I had read that the #2 pick was struggling with consistency. I saw it with my own eyes today. Way too many dropped passes.
August 5, 200818 yr One thing that helps the learning curve with all the missed practice is that he is playing the same position that he played in college so its not like he has to learn a new one.
August 5, 200818 yr Marvin doesn't seem to be too uptight about the holdout, he says the terminology should be the only difference for Rivers.
August 6, 200818 yr Hearing he is on his way to camp to sign the deal... Enquirer is reporting that both sides have agreed to terms, and he should be at the 9am practice tomorrow. :ylsuper:
