August 4, 200818 yr Until I read this thread I didn't know there was any connection to Planned Parenthood and abortion. I always had the understanding that it was a place to go for contraceptives and sexual health info and things like that.

Let's not put any onus on PP since we each fund it essentially. Didn't Jack Kevorkian have a similar argument? He called them mercy killings. And these folks wanted him to euthanize them and paid him for it. He was simply a facilitator. I find it funny that we can't see a duck and call it a duck.

If I'm trying to prevent something, I don't think I would do that something over one million times in my life, much less in a year. I don't buy that one... That would be the equivalent of a Drug Rehabilitation Clinic taking in addicts, laying out all the options (including continuing to take the drug), advising them of the pros and cons of each, giving them heroin or cocaine if they didn't want to quit, and then telling us that they're trying to prevent drug abuse and addiction.

The Fed is paying for abortion through Medicaid, funding to organizations like Planned Parenthood and the Title X population\birth control program. President George W. Bush has increased funding for Title X by over $26 million more than the last Bill Clinton budget. Title X was encacted in 1970 by Nixon, and then-Congressman George H.W. Bush said the following, "We need to make population and family planning household words. We need to take sensationalism out of this topic so that it can no longer be used by militants who have no real knowledge of the voluntary nature of the program but, rather are using it as a political steppingstone. If family planning is anything, it is a public health matter." I found the bolded section of the statement to be quite interesting.
August 4, 200818 yr Saying that PP does lots of good things is no different than saying the same about Hitler, only Hitler gave many of his victims a fighting chance (Holocaust victims being notable exceptions). The fact that Hitler built roads and improved Germany's pre-World War II economic conditions does not excuse his slaughter of innocent victims and the blood on Planned Parenthood's hands cannot be washed off with any amount of good deeds as long as the killing continues.
