Planned Parenthood....what is it's mission

I don't understand. Why would I concede something that I don't know? I assume you meant your comment about what you figured my response to be to be derisive? If so, do you somehow assume that I approve of abortion? You couldn't be more wrong, if so.

Yet you support an organization that promotes it. I don't get it. And yes I've read every post and understand where you stand on the services that it provides which many are fantastic, but the simple fact remains that PP provides an avenue for something that you don't approve of and you still support it. I suppose that is where we'll never agree.

I guess, being a woman, and being a woman who at one time needed to turn to their services because I didn't have health insurance and couldn't afford the cost of going to a regular OB/GYN for routine care. They had a sliding scale system, and I could afford it. Without them, I'd have gone 10 years or more with no pap smears, no annual exam.

While I was a patient there, I saw many young pregnant girls receiving pre-natal care, many elderly women receiving services as well. The scope of their services are far more than just abortion.

For me, if they rid themselves of the abortion, I could agree to support them. Again, not arguing that they don't have some quality services. But in the end, they provide a service that I cannot morally support on any level.

And for me, their efforts in pregnancy prevention, and their focus on providing care to women who could otherwise not afford care and wind up at risk for disease, and unplanned pregnancies is separate from the abortion issue.

If an abortion is wanted, there are OB/GYN offices everywhere who will either perform them, or refer a patient to a clinic that will. I don't find Planned Parenthood the sole culprit. But, no one is able to get the statistics from those offices, because they are not required to disclose their statistics.

Abortion is abominable. I agree. But Planned Parenthood is far from the only provider.

I see your side and understand. But in my opinion, abortion is murder. And I know that this topic is for another thread, so I'll refrain from going that direction. But, whether PP is the sole provider of abortions or not, even if it's simply one, I can't support it for that reason. This nation is not what it once was and will never be again for a myriad of reasons, but my belief is that we've strayed so far from God and what He expects from us (abortion at the top of that list) that I fear for our nation. One day we will all stand before Him and give an account. I sure don't want to stand accountable for supporting abortion in any shape, form, or fashion.

I'm sorry, spindoc, but how can you then support the individual OB/GYN's who refer or perform?

Where did I say that I supported them?
