No team from District 8 was good enough to be Top 10 last season, and doubtful that they are this year.

Franklin County has lost alot on the O and D line they will have to rely on some unproven youth at those spots, still got some boys playing other sports that have not been consistently at football yet as well. Hopefully they can live up to the expectations at FC.

Don't sell those wolf tickets. You know Coach Ledford and company will have it all put together. They have enough skill kids and a great QB. IMO the QB will be better running that offense than Ammons.

I would say 3rd is a little too high a spot for North Bullitt. They do return one of the top RB's in the state in senior Dalton Cissell who has already rushed for 5,000 + yds and a pretty good QB in Jordan Mayberry (1st team All-district), but I would have to rank them somewhere in the lower half of the top ten. I liked Cynical's order except for having Lone Oak in there.

Would a GCHS victory of 31-30 have been good enough to change your mind having set up a Semifinal matchup between GCHS and Lexington Catholic?

 

It doesn't really matter.

 

However, if you're going to place Harrison County in the Top 10, then a District 8 team is good enough as well.

...so the perceived success of the 2008 season is based upon all previous years combined in a school's program even though the players and coaches on the 2008 team hadn't played or coached during the prior 30+ years? :lol: :banana:

^In preseason polls, yes. That is exactly how the rankings gets based. You also have to remember that many and I mean many people felt like your district was possibly the weakest in any class of football and the way the playoffs worked this past year someone had to make it to the region title game from that district, so many people do not percieve that as a lot of success. You played Harrison County a good game though to prove people it wasn't just a fluke, I'm just saying it takes time.

There is a perception that safety in numbers allows for acceptable behavior to become the norm.

I'm a SE KY boy myself but I think Lex cath was the state champs and should be #1 until someone beats them.

Needs some young lineman to step up and grow up early. They could have a very good year but as stated above there schedule is ridiculous. Lots of very good soph's who will be called upon. Just my thoughts.

Lexington Catholic has an outstanding football program in Class 4A. They lost a lot of seniors from last season's championship team. That type of leadership will be greatly missed.

 

I can see them winning another 4A championship, but I think they will lose a couple of games early. I am not in the know about their opener versus the Indianapolis team. Boy, the Illinois team they opened with last year was built up pretty big, but was a dog! I can see loses versus traditional powerhouses St. Xavier and Ft. Thomas Highlands. I think playing this type of schedule will only make the Knights better in November and December which is the strategy of their fine Coach Bill Letton.
