July 21, 200818 yr Was at relatives house, in Independence, when the second batch rolled through around 7:30 or 8. Got home at about 10 o'clock to no electricity, live off of Mt Zion Rd. Fell sleep about 11:30 and woke up to the lights coming back on around 1:30am. Wind blew a few things around backyard....garden and tomatoes survived, but satellite dish has been knocked off kilter some...cannot pickup any of the HD Channels 200 on up. First time that has happened, must have been whipping pretty good. Bad news...will be without HD until Wednesday.

July 22, 200818 yr I got up this morning, and when I headed out, I couldn't believe all the trees that were down.
July 22, 200818 yr One positive development as a result of the recent storms. Most of the ends of the branches that have been messed up by the cicadas have blown off our trees and into the yard next door.

July 23, 200818 yr So, does everybody have their power back on up in NoKy? Talked to mom earlier, and she said she spent much of the day picking up branches and other debris. The next door neighbor had five windows knocked out by flying branches and such, which sucks. Fortunately, my inheritance went relatively unscathed, save for a few shingles that blew off the roof.
