Logical Question

Featured Replies

One side doesn't want to admit that maybe they might have to take some personal responsibility with what kind of cars they drive, and what products they consume.

From my research it seems that at this point there is more proof for global warming, but there is alot of research against it. But why take the chance in being wrong?

Because if you assume it is correct, you are then compelled to address the solutions to it. If those solutions are expensive to U.S businesses, it makes them less competitive with their international competitors, which makes the U.S. businesses less profitable, which means job losses, lack of job creation, less tax revenues for local, state and federal govt. It also means billions of our existing tax dollars are going to be spent on trying to remedy something that isn't necessarily a problem. Those are all pretty good reasons don't you think for not just assuming the global warming theory is right? It doesn't cost you anything to assume there is a Hell; it will cost this country and people like you and me a whole lot if we attempt to remedy global warming because we didn't want to take a chance in being wrong.

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,

a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.

And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily,

joyfully, playfully watching me.

But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,

logical, responsible, practical.

And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,

clinical, intellectual, cynical.

Ooops, misread the thread title.

I knew you had to be a closet "Supertramp" fan!! :D

RTS, I've never seen you more lyrical!!! I'm impressed! :thumb:
I was in that sort of mood for some reason.

There's a lot of us around these days. :thumb:
MY first thought is: WHY are you on your computer, posting on BGP???

I'm with Bluto. My first thought of Hearsay is "How can you even consider any imperfection or imagine any wrongdoing while staring at the view you have?" There are times to fight the windmills and there are times to enjoy what is right in front of you. This is the time to recharge to batteries.

I have what might seem to be a silly question but it is an honest question.

Growing up, we ONLY burnt our trash.

Today, I send it to Rumpke.

Which is better?

I really wanted an answer to this question if anyone knows.

Is it better for me to burn my trash in the backyard like we did when I was growing up or should I continue to send it to Rumpke's landfill?????

It's better for you to compost and recycle, then you will have very little garbage.:thumb:

I think we as a country do a horrible job of recycling. Sometime down the road, our waste landfills are going to be treasure troves for recovery of much need metals and other recyclables.
