July 20, 200818 yr Unreal. The Reds without fail give up big hits to guys nobody's ever herard of...(double by Cancel). Couple that with a bonehead...a bonehead... misplay by Encarnacion that is just inexcusable under the circumstances (this, hard on the heels of the Keystone Kops handling of the Reyes bunt).:banana: The Reds had a chance to stomp on the jugular vein of the Mets (Jim Kelch noted the Reds needed to do so, I think, in his comments last night on radio). They don't have a killer attitude, not instinct, attitude to put teams down when they have the chance. Much like Thursday night's game, the Reds got burned by giving the Mets chance after chance after chance to score runs. Cincinnati has the right colors on today, playing Santa Claus against a team you can't do that with and reasonably expect to win. The one thing consistent about the 2008 Reds: they don't need teams to beat them, the Reds team itself finds ways to do themselves in.

July 20, 200818 yr George Grande had it wrong on television at the end of the Sunday game. The Mets did not 'earn' the split. Cincinnati handed them Sunday's game, and pretty much did the same in the opener on Thursday. .500 ball on the road (just before the All Star break) and .500 ball at home won't get Cincinnati anywhere fast. Yes, they 'cooled off' the hottest team in baseball, but they could have gained a lot more psychologically by getting three of four (or the 'missed' sweep?). Can this team handle sustained success?
July 20, 200818 yr Should have been at least 3 of 4 if not the sweep. Play this way against SD and Col. and .500 could happen by the end of this homestand.
July 20, 200818 yr They could have easily been 50-50 after this series and then with SD and COL coming you could have seen a slight push in gaining wild card ground but looks like .500 mark is the only possible goal.
