July 10, 200818 yr The D'Backs don't need Dunn. They don't need Dunn but they are thinking about adding Bonds. I would rather have Dunn than Bonds. Obviously, if they are considering adding Bonds, Dunn could be a help.

If Bonds is in game shape he wouldn't cost them anything but a prorated one year deal. I think he'd be a much better rent-a-bat than Dunn.

July 10, 200818 yr You would need a 2nd plane to transport the baggage that goes with Bonds. Yep but he'd only be there for 2 months and it would give them the chance to win a very weak NL West without giving up any of their young players. If it doesn't work they're still bringing back the youngest roster in the NL next season and if it does and they get in the playoffs anything can happen. Dunn would at least cost them prospects.
July 10, 200818 yr With Mulder down, I can see the Cards going for Burnett, they did push for him when he was a F.A a couple years ago. Also heard they were interested in Matt Holiday.

I would love for them to get Holiday. I read that last week where they were thinking of going after him to be able to bat him behind Pujols.
July 10, 200818 yr I would love for them to get Holiday. I read that last week where they were thinking of going after him to be able to bat him behind Pujols. That would be huge. I dont know who would be lead off would be, I guess Kennedy, or someone else. 1. Kennedy/Miles? 2. Ankiel 3. Pujols 4. Holiday 5. Ludwick 6. Glaus 7. Molina 8. PITCHER 9. Izturis
July 10, 200818 yr If I were a BoSox fan I would be very upset if they traded Youkilis. I love that guy. IMO he is the heart and soul of that team. He's also a potential cancer in the clubhouse unless he changes his ways.
July 10, 200818 yr I don't see that happening. Teixeira is not really an upgrade over Youkilis. Tex is hitting .275 with 17 Homeruns and 67 RBIs with a .381 OBA. Youkilis is hitting .319 with 14 Homeruns and 57 RBIs and .384 OBA. There's only a 1 year age difference and Youkilis is a Gold Glove Firstbaseman. I could see the Red Sox interest in Teixeira but only as a replacement for Ortiz if he can't come back, I don't think they would trade Youkilis to get him. I agree w/ everything you said, plus Tex is a free agent after this year & Youks isn't eligible for FA until 2011. Financially it makes even less sense (or would that be cents?)...also, not sure of Tex's versatility but Youks can play 3rd & both corner OF positions very well...
July 10, 200818 yr Apparently the Bonds to Arizona or Boston rumors were just that...rumors... I would've enjoyed watching him finally get a ring in Boston.
July 10, 200818 yr Yeah it was reported that Bonds was privatly working out for serveral teams, but Bonds' agent said he has not worked out for any team.
July 10, 200818 yr He's also a potential cancer in the clubhouse unless he changes his ways. That couldn't be further from the truth. I'm assuming you say that because of his scuffle with Manny and that was way overblown. Youk is one of the most popular and respected players in the Boston clubhouse. The players love him because of his intensity and his willingness to hit play anywhere on the field to help the team or move anywhere in the order if necessary. He even tried to play the day after taking that throw to the eye when the team made him go to the doctor instead. If the only clubhouse problem the Red Sox have to worry about is Youkilis, they've got nothing to worry about at all. :thumb:
July 10, 200818 yr According to http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ the Dbacks Justin Upton is heading to the DL....Could this make them interested in Dunn? I hope so.
July 10, 200818 yr Author ^ Who do you think the Reds would want for Dunn..Or more realistically, who do you think the D-Backs would offer?
July 10, 200818 yr ^ Who do you think the Reds would want for Dunn..Or more realistically, who do you think the D-Backs would offer? I'd take almost anything at this point...The bottom line is no one really wants Dunn.
