1996
George Brett 21 seasons 908 K's 10,000 AB Manny Ramirez 16 Seasons 1622 K's 7,000 AB .... WOW!
LRCW
He said A, B, and C--not all 4. Thanks. I misread that.
NEERFAN
I'd say B and C will have a spot in Cooperstown.
NEERFAN
I don't know who any of them are. But I'd rather see OBP than Avg. Just looking at the current numbers I'd go with B and C Thomas .420 Ramirez .408 Thome .407 Delgado .
LRCW
Thomas .420 Ramirez .408 Thome .407 Delgado .383 D was Juan Gonzalez, and not Delgado. That was my mistake.

UKMustangFan
AJG was correct, they are Thome, Thomas, Ramirez, & Juan Gone....And I agree with most that Thomas and Ramirez should be in. I found it interesting that they had such similar numbers though. Here's another one... Pitcher A: has played for 14 years W-65 L-47 ERA-2.30 SV-466 IP-993.1 BB-241 SO-903 Pitcher B: has played for 14 years W-39 L-37 ERA-2.41 SV-378 IP-807 BB-269 SO-1056 Pitcher C: has played for 21 years W-216 L-146 ERA-3.46 CG-83 IP-3261 BB-711 SO-3116 Pitcher D: has played for 17 years W-212 L-95 ERA-2.86 CG-47 IP-2714.1 BB-723 SO-3061
DragonFire
I'd say A & D are definites for the pitchers, and C is probable as well.
DragonFire
Having looked at the names, I'd stick by that. A & D are mortal locks and C has a lot in his favor. I don't think B makes it.

C has a lot of intangibles that are going to help his case, which is why I think all but B make it.
mcpapa
Pitcher D looks a lot like Pedro Martinez...has he been pitching for 17 years? His winning percentage of nearly .700 gets him in easily if he gets to, say 250 wins lifetime.
coldweatherfan
A= Jim Thome - He's 38. I'm guessing he'll play 1-2 more years. Only needs 37 homeruns to finish his career in the top 10 all-time. If he makes the top 10 IMO he's in. If Reggie Jackson got in with his numbers Thome should be in. B= Frank Thomas - Not very many guys hit 500+ HR and batted .300+. The Big Hurt is in. C= Manny Ramirez - Only a handful of guys in the history of the game averaged 100 RBI per season. Manny is one of them. If he stays healthy for 4 more years he has a very legit shot at 600 HR and 2000 RBI, to go with his .313 BA. He's a strange dude, but he's also one of the best hitters to ever play. He's in. D= Juan Gonzalez - Nope.
DragonFire
The four are: A - Mariano Rivera B - Billy Wagner C - Curt Schilling D - Pedro Martinez On stats alone, Rivera and Martinez are going in, to say nothing of their names.
coldweatherfan
A - Mariano Rivera - Yes, he and Hoffman are what everybody else wants to be. B - Billy Wagner - Yes. Needs only 12 saves to pass Eckersley for #5 all-time saves, and 46 to move to #4. He has 20 saves already this year, so if all goes well, he should be #5 before year end, and #4 sometime next year. C - Curt Schilling - Nope. D - Pedro Martinez - Undecided, but leaning towards no. The .693 win percentage is something very special. But on the other hand 212 wins is pretty far down the totem pole.
