Surprising? Hardly. Sometimes I think that those of us who have been married for many years (30 for us this fall) and who are faithful are in a very small minority.

 

I wonder if anyone has conducted an exhaustive comparison of infidelity among politicians compared to the general public. Maybe we just hear about certain groups because they're deemed "newsworthy".

What are you blaming on the Administration? Gas prices? The economy? If so, what cause and effect do you lay at their feet?

But as I said earlier, how I'm affected is the most important thing to me when it comes to voting...If I'm better off now than I was 8 years ago, then that's all that matters.

Unfortunately, that is how our country votes. Their pocketbooks. Only when they feel comfortable with their pocketbooks do they consider other issues like the killing of innocent unborn children.

Yet YOU are the one that is supposed to look at the economy and the "shape" that it will be in if Obama is elected and his tax plan is put in place. Others only need worry about themselves. I guess that it just depends on what side of the pocketbook you are on. :lol:

You honestly believe that's why the economy and gas prices are what they are?

Yet YOU are the one that is supposed to look at the economy and the "shape" that it will be in if Obama is elected. I guess that it just depends on what side of the pocketbook you are on. :lol:

What about higher taxes is going to help the economy considering it will have a negative effect since it will hit the middle class hardest as always?

Why in the world would I vote for someone who's going to leave me worse off than I was before? I'm sorry, maybe it's a bad way to look at things, but I put my welfare above everyone elses.

According to the tax analysis thread we had a month or so ago, it looks like the upper middle class fairs best under McCain's plan slighty and the lower middle class fairs best under McCain's plan. Only the wealthiest will be bothered by Obama's plan.

Using this logic, neither of you would have voted FDR to a second term, right? FDR was re-elected for his second term in 1937, right smack in the middle of the Great Depression AND the Recession of 1937.

 

Or Teddy Roosevelt to his second term? The panic of 1907 happened pretty close to the election.

 

Heck, we were heading towards a recession at the end of George Washington's term as President....would you to have up and said "King George III, things aren't really working out with this whole democracy thing.....mind if you take over again?"

 

Vote on the war, there is a legitimate claim there. If you are voting for Senator Obama on the grounds that A) Bush ruined the economy or that B) Obama is going to fix it, I can't agree with you at all.
