June 25, 200818 yr I don't think there is any question about it ... Obama's remarks ring very true. The right-wing scare machine will be out in full-force...already have been. The GOP has been rendered mostly irrelevant thanks to Bush and it no longer resonates with most Americans, so Republicans are going to resort to trying to instill irrational fear of the charismatic, young, intelligent, black candidate into undecided voters. It will work on some , but not enough to matter.

I think since the primary has ended he has sacrificed that transcendental image for that of a standard Democrat. It's up to the McCain campaign to define him as that liberal Democrat, not an agent of change. If Obama goes into the fall as the "change" guy, he's won it, but if he goes into the fall as the "liberal" guy, McCain can snag it.
