July 19, 200818 yr Author Monday night it is. :irked: I hope you guys are playing Monday too. We are there Monday night, our boys came ready to play and we won 13-3. One more time against St. Agnes for all the marbles.

Congrats. :thumb: Unfortunately, the Titans brought their A+ game, and the Tigers decided to not show up. It was the worst game I've ever seen them play. Hopefully, they can bounce back. The Tigers caught them on an off night last week, and the Titans caught the Tigers on an off day today. If both teams come out to play, it should be a great game.

July 20, 200818 yr I'd like to commend the American Legion baseball program. The Legion has had some excellent teams in the past with Coach Sizemore, Jones, Alford and many others leading their team to the city championships in knothole -- all out of Dist 22. The legion has generally had only 2 to 3 teams a season. This season, the legion was able to put together 7 teams starting from the age of 5 to 19. The legion had 4 out of 6 teams make it to the Regional tournament. The coach pitch team had a great season as well. The D2 team was within one game of making it to the Regional championship - they were lead by Head Coach Sid Navra and a great staff. The AA team came in thrid place in their tournament which including around 16 teams from around the Greater Cincinnati Area. The AA team was lead by Head Coach Ron Bickers (also of the Taylor Mill Hitmen A team) and Coach Sizemore (2 City Championships) and Coach Doug Klaas. They had some help from their B team's coaching staff as well. Overall, great season for the Legion teams and thanks for all of your efforts.
July 20, 200818 yr Have not been to the park in several years. Was there tonight. What an amazing group the Campbell Knothole district does with those fields. I got to think it may be the best baseball complex around. Hope the people in Campbell appreciate the work of those knothole volunteers. After watching an A ball game there on Saturday, I'd have to strongly disagree. The fields are too small for the older boys. The shortstops and 2nd basemen have to stand in the grass, and that is at normal depth.
July 20, 200818 yr Congrats to the N. Ky. WILDCATS, who won the Class C Knothole Division 1 City Tournament tonight. They finished as district champs, overall league champs, and now City tournament champs with an overall record of 35-4. Kids are mainly from Ft. Thomas. Players are Joseph Martin, Jeffrey Lynn, Grayson Heck, Luke Hennigan, Jakey Whitford, Dylan Huff, Rocco Pangallo, Johnny Eblin, Mitchell Jones, Casey Fitch, Todd Ramey, and Pat Schoepf. Coaches are Casey Jones, Rich Whitford, Tim Martin, Herb Rardin, and Casey Hennigan. Congrats to all. Congrats Ruru and to the NKY Wildcats. Dont forget to say hey now and then. :flame:

July 21, 200818 yr Monday night it is. :irked: I hope you guys are playing Monday too. Tough thing about scheduling games for the benefit of the teams involved instead of the convenience of the parents. Would not even be an issue if your team would have won the game.
July 21, 200818 yr And it was not a neutral field!  What are you talking about? I was simply stating that Pendery Park is not the best complex around when you can't comfortably play an A ball game. Tough thing about scheduling games for the benefit of the teams involved instead of the convenience of the parents. Would not even be an issue if your team would have won the game. If they were scheduling for the benefit of the teams, this tournament would've been wrapped up prior to this weekend.
July 21, 200818 yr I guess rain had nothing to do with one of the rounds being interrupted? There's no reason for the loser of the winner's bracket to wait one week to play, and then the winner of the winner's bracket to wait over a week to play. They had same round games, days apart instead of all on the same day. The layout of this tournament was kind of odd.

Which complex you think are better?
July 21, 200818 yr I believe plenty of high school games have been played there without complaint, matter of fact the opposite. Which complex you think are better? I like the layouts of Mills and Pendery with the concession somewhat in the middle of the playing fields. However, at Mills, the crown on the infield of one of the fields is way too big. The batter's boxes are also very deep. At Pendery, the infield of the one field looked to have quite a few low spots. It also had a little drainage gully from the left center fence all the way through right field and into foul territory. You also have to be on the lookout from foul balls from the other fields. The lack of fences down the lines is another negative. I like the fields at Central, but I haven't been out there in a couple years. However, the layout and parking is the least appealing. I just don't think you can simply state that Pendery is the best baseball complex in NKY. I think these 3 are the best that each county has to offer (unless I'm having a huge brain fart right now and can't think of any other complexes worth mentioning). However, IMO, I don't think you can clearly label one of them as the best baseball complex in NKY.
July 22, 200818 yr Congrats to the Titans of Campbell County. They proved tonight that they are the best B2 team in NKY.
