I'm not sure when the initial draft occurs. However, the only way a coach can 'weed out' players is by ticking the parents off so they don't want to come back the next year, which I don't think generally happens. Then, in the draft, the coach takes the chance of another team drafting a kid he wants prior to his pick. Whereas, in the surrounding counties, if a kid wants to play for you the following season and you as a coach want him to, you've got him.

Not completely true. If a kid wants to switch teams he must first be released by his original team then he would enter a draft situation. There are exceptions made all the time like if a kid goes to school or plays other sports with a group of kids an exception may be made. Even with that the coach still has to release him. The major difference is at the beginning in D1 a kid may play for whoever he chooses.

My son won his first game tonight and it is on to the semi's of the winners bracket. He can't stop asking questions and talking about the game, that is the best part for me.

True. However, not many keep a kid that doesn't want to play.

You are right they won't keep a kid who doesn't want to play but if it is a kid who is just trying to move to a better team the league will usually not allow it. There is very little movement of kids between teams interleague.

Thank You.

Posted our second win this weekend, now we are in the winner's bracket final wednesday. Can't wait, the kids are really into it and playing great right now.

I am being told that the B Division Titans from Campbell County are a force to be reckoned with. They could play the Gold Star Chili Tigers on Weds. night. Should be a great game.

I've heard the same. The Tigers have to win tomorrow night first.

Wednesday night it is.

They Play Tues. night at Pendry Park I will be out to Watch the D2 game out there, so I will make my way over.

Have not been to the park in several years. Was there tonight. What an amazing group the Campbell Knothole district does with those fields. I got to think it may be the best baseball complex around. Hope the people in Campbell appreciate the work of those knothole volunteers.

They'll be playing at 6:00 at Mills Park.

Mills Road hands down over Pendry

Field 4 at Mills Road is horrible.. The outfield drops about five feet from the edge of the infield to the fence...I would take Bartlett for C&D over both of those facilities...

Field #1 has the same issue in right. The crowns on the fields are very bad. However, the setup as a whole is nice with the baseball fields surrounding the concession, some soccer fields with another concession, and 2 football fields/stadiums with a nice concession.

As for Bartlett, they actually played a game or two down there for the B tournament. There shouldn't be any B games down there with those short fences.

Each of the locations have some great features. However, time and again the field conditions at Pendery rival any location around. Parking is the best in relation to the fields. Viewing is very good for most of the fields but some of the fields at Mills is better as is Bartlett. None of the locations can rival Pendery on shear volume and accomidations and some of the fields - plural, have lights. Concession pricing is as good if not better than others. As for playing D league games at Bartlett over Pendery, I think it comes down to personal choice but Pendery has a couple fields exclusive to D league dimensions. Pendery does not have the restroom facilities as Mills and it is a shortfall. However, if it rains on game day, or during the game the ability to continue to play is unmatched at Pendery.

Pendry has the better field conditions but Mills has the better park layout. Have not been to Bartlett in a long time but I here nothing but good things about it. As for handeling whether Pendry does a very good job, but I will assume so does Mills with the kind of surface that is down there. I guess we will find out tonight as we are scheduled to play there and it is supposed to rain today.
