June 20, 200818 yr I loved Louisville the year I lived there. It will be where I move next after I get ready for a change in career. Even though I only lived there for one year and went to college there I have a strong connection there with some personal things that have happened there for me the past 15 years. I dislike the Cardinals but I would proudly wear my UK logo around Louisville when I live there.

June 20, 200818 yr This is the 4th city that I have lived in....I have loved 3 of 4....but Louisville is the only one that I want to raise my children in.
June 20, 200818 yr Louisville is by far the favorite city that I have lived in. I've lived in Bowling Green, Lexington, Ashland, and have been all over this great state. When most people think of Louisville, they think of downtown. If that's all there was to Louisville, I would hate it too! Believe me, I don't like driving in a big downtown on confusing one-way streets, paying for parking, and having people on the street asking me to help them with their bus fare. That's not the type of atmosphere I want to live in. I have lived in Louisville for two years now, and I absoultely love it! Even though I live in a county with a population over 700k, my community has the same feel as every other KY city I've lived in. What's great about it, is that I have the small city feel with all of the ammenities of a large city. When I need to do some home repair, I have more than one hardware store to choose from. And when that hardware store doesn't have the item in stock, I can probably find one that does within a 5 mile radius. If I am unsatisfied with the service at Walmart, I can go to Meijer, Kroger, Value Market, etc.. In Lexington, the Fayette Mall area is a regional shopping center drawing in thousands of customers from the southern and eastern parts of KY, making weekend traffic a nightmare, full of people unfamiliar with the area. Louisville has more shopping centers available, with a higher percentage of locals who know the back ways to get there, making it easier to drive around. Louisville is not only a downtown. It is filled with smaller communities that join together to make it the most liveable city in America! For those who like the urban feel, live inside the Watteson Expressway and enjoy! For those who like suburbia, we have plenty of that! For those who want to live in the "country", find some land in the Southeast corner of Louisville and lay down your roots. Louisville truly has it all!
