Are you serious?? Noble might live in Breathitt and he is from Breathitt so yea it sounds understandable about the thought of him going back. But with the addition of the other factors for Owsley's side, give him his first coaching job when his home town wouldnt even consider him, gave him all the time and support he needs from administration and community even though he didnt win 10 games last season and still expect him to be successful in the future. So nothing againest you HDE but it does "irk" us a little when something like this pops up.

And the thing that makes this all the saddest is that he still may not land a job in Breathitt on July 15th. And to add on to that to make things even better is that Breathitt just doesnt want him for coaching, politics come into play and they may just hire him to get some kids back in the community and save their own tail for a couple years.

Eventhough this sounds like I am anti-Doug Noble , I'm not. I wish him well and hope he is successful wherever he is on the sideline next year. If he is at Breathitt then I will be rooting for him every game except if the other team is Owsley.

The only two people that has applied is Doug and Kyle.

 

Have they both been interviewed? I would of thought that there would be a lot more applicants for this job. Maybe they were scared off by the talk of politics and the overwhelming parent involvement.

When two jobs are involved yes I believe Owsley has a reason to be irked a little. It is geting close to opening day. Jobs have to be posted for 30 days so yea there is a little reason. I don't believe it is Dougs fault and me too I hope him the best. I'll just be glad when it is over.

Breathitt needs to go ahead and make it offical. This is silly how they are acting and what they are doing. Just go ahead and hire the guy.

Not only is it close to opening day for school, but summer is a very important time for basketball. It is during the summer that you build strenghth, and teach fundamentals for the upcoming season, as well as work with your young kids. This has been hurtful for both Owsley County and Breathitt for this reason.

I can tell you why the Professor and everybody else that is involved is aggrivated at this. When Doug was hired, he said that he would stick around . He also stated that he would never work at Breathitt again, as long as Arch Turner was superintendent. This was said several times and we all believed him. Everyone at Owsley bent over backwards to help Coach Noble and we feel that the kids are getting jerked around with this waiting!!!!

It is not fair for the kids, as much as they have been through. But I am sure that the administration will think long and hard before the next coaching hire to try to get stability that this program desperately needs. This is the second year in a roll that they have hired out of the district, supported the coaches and listened to them when they said they were committed to stay around, but I guess anyone will say anything to get a job, but that's not a very professional move for someone in education.

I love Breathitt sports but this is very rediculas what Arch is doing. Ever since he has been super, the basketball team has done worse and worse. Now they think they can fix it with a coach? I think its time for a new super. Alot of the ole time players are feed up with Archs way and they want him out asap.

No word yet that I know of.

Word is that they will anounce it around 2:30

Breathitt County Schools has posted a science/social studies teacher job at SMS middle school? I wonder-out loud- what coaching applicate has middle school science/social studies certification that once taught those subjects at the middle school before going to another county to teach at 7-12 high school? This is getting silly beyond words?
