I have become a little more compassionate towards the KHSAA but I'm still a Republican until someone can persuade me otherwise.

I have never changed my vote because of anything said on BGP, but seeing so many people posting propaganda fed to them by the various Soros organization has validated some of my beliefs. I have found that many posters rarely read linked articles that I post and it is obvious in their responses, so I really do not expect to change those people's minds on anything.

 

I do try to read most articles that are linked or at least try to follow the money trail behind them. I find the number of people stubbornly supporting the socialist agenda of candidates like Barack Obama while paradoxically claiming to advocate individual freedom extremely alarming. We are losing our personal liberty in this country and the pace of the loss is accelerating.

 

I never thought that I would see the day when a candidate could be elected promising large tax increases and a corresponding expansion of the federal bureaucracy, but I believe that day has arrived.

 

Eventually, the pendulum will swing back to the right because socialism and communism has brought misery everywhere that it has been tried. I guess this generation will have to get a taste of Carterism to see the effects of excessive government regulation and taxation for themselves.

An emphatic one. Anybody who relies on somebody else's opinion or a candidate's promises to make a decision is an idiot. I follow the news closely, including political news. When a campaign begins, I have already formed my opinions of most of the candidates. Nothing they say during the campaign makes much difference to me.

I disagree with the bolded. One of the probglems with this country in my opinion is that our leaders try and be all things to all people. They pretend like they know something about everything. You can't. There are certain people who are good at or experts at certain things. We should rely upon theri advice. Now, you need to discern the intentions of those PEOPLE, but once you do, you should be able to rely on their information.

I have not decided who I am voting for this year, but some people on this website are doing their best to make me vote opposite of who they are voting. :lol:

You can't. There are certain people who are good at or experts at certain things. We should rely upon theri advice. Now, you need to discern the intentions of those PEOPLE, but once you do, you should be able to rely on their information.

I should have been more specific, I meant voting decisions rather than decisions in general. I also should add that if a candidate has a history of keeping campaign promises, then I do listen to their promises during a campaign. In my experience, few politicians make a good faith effort to keep their promises, so I usually disregard them entirely.

 

I fully agree that nobody can be an expert on very many things and one is a fool to disregard their advice. However, when it comes to voting decisions, endorsements are wasted on me. People make endorsements too often to repay some political favor.

Some people, politicians included, need to take their mirrored glasses off and quit looking at their own image. Considering the ideas of others does not show weakness, but strength. How you choose between differing ideas shows intelligence. How you treat someone whose idea you oppose shows character.
