Just curious, a few months ago there was a thread in which the coach for Beechwood was quoted as saying he was pretty sure that Maniello would commit before the season began. I pointed out that this was a bit of a bold statement being that the kid held no offers. Not only that, but it was a statement that could possibly indicate to recruiters that the kid had a set preference (Cincinnati / Kentucky) and because of that perhaps not recruit him as hard.

 

For my statements, I was blasted by Beechwood posters who let me know that their head coach knew what he was doing and that this kid was a sure fire DI-A player. Well, it’s June and he currently holds no offers. The kid is good and I have no doubt that he will garner a I-AA offer and perhaps even a I-A offer in time, but I wonder if the coach regrets going public with a statement such as talking about commitments when there were, and are, no offers on the table.

Dom currently holds a offer with MAC 10 Champs, Central Michigan University, and YES that is a D-1 school and YES, Rash knows what he is doing, and I doubt he has ever regreted anything that he has made public as he is a calculating man who does not care about the opinions of nay sayers such as yourself.

 

Dominic had set no preference to which school he attended, if you read his interview at scout.com, he said he was waiting for all offers to come in and see which suited him.

Nico Teipel (I hope I spelled that correctly) really impressed the coaches at Western Ky's camp yesterday. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets offered soon!

 

Nieco actually had two very good camps the other being Indiana. They pulled him to the side to say that they are very intersted in him. P.S your getting close on the name.:laugh:

I also heard that Purdue was high on this talented young man as well as Tenn had a visit to school regarding Mr Teipel. Any truth to this?

Yes, Purdue has an eye on Teipel and Mainello. They both visited Tenn back in March. Both going to Uks camp Fri and Tenn on Sat. Teipel is an extrodinary athelete, and it would surprise me if he did not get offers from every school he visits!

He will get a better gauge of Tenn this weekend as he is going back there for the second time this year. Purdue on the other hand is not to high on his list.

Any clue how Beechwood fared in the 7 on 7 over at Highlands today?

Yes, Beechwood did do pretty well against all the teams (Highlands, Fairfield (OH), and Withrow (OH)). I do know they scored on all of these teams and played a pretty well defense against them too. I did see Rigdon as quarterback in many of the series and then plugged in other players in all positions to get reps. At this point I believe Beechwood is in good shape.

Yes Beechwood didn't do so bad. I did see kind of a mismatch though when Highlands went against Beechwood with Speed-Speed-Speed. Withrow was about the only team that had more team speed than Highlands. Beechwood didn't look bad, i would suggest coach Rash keeps to the shorter passes though. When Beechwood's QB decides to throw deep it's pretty much anybody's ball.

The possible starting QB to be is probably playing summer baseball. IMO, has a much stronger arm than the QB you watched today.

If that is Slusher, then he was there today. I talked to him. I don't think he lined up under center today. Daniels got a lot of the snaps today. If not Slusher then who.

Why did the tigers leave so early? I'm not to sure about how well they played against the other teams but they struggled against the Bird's. They might have scored a couple times but by no means did that team look like tigers from the past. How many new players do they have on offense?

Larimore? Baseball has always interfered with Summer basketball. How does Rash feel about the interference with football?
