What's CAL stand for?

This was heck of a game, and all of the credit in the world goes to CAL. They exploded for 6 runs in one inning and that was all it took. X tried to battle back but it was too little, too late. After watching CAL play this week in 3 games, they are not the team people thought they were. They are the real deal, they hit the ball and play great defense. If their pitching holds up, I look for them to make it to Applebee's.

 

With that said, X has nothing to hang their heads about. Staying in the top 5 in the state for most of the season, being the runner-up in the toughest region in the state by far, and finishing with a 33-6 record is impressive. This X senior class has been arguably the best group of seniors for baseball in several years. Finishing undefeated as freshman, losing only 4 or 5 as JVs and 6 this year. The majority of them didn't play regularly as juniors. But to combine for roughly a 75-10 record over their careers is impressive. Nothing to hang your heads about, you played a heck of a game.

After the Rock's went down Wednesday night -tried to warn about the capability of that squad - albeit it's apparent unusual approach and tactics. They did what they had to do. It is quite a feat to knock off "two such powers" on successive nights. MOre power to them. Good luck next week.

X got what they deserved. You cheer when a kid gets thrown out. What class!! X thought T had a better draw, think again. Who cares about this X class winning their freshman/JV years at X. All they will remember is Trinity beat them in football and baseball their senior year. Not that I'm a CAL fan because if T or X played them 10 times, CAL would lose 9 of them. Did those X fans cheer for Stephan and Deeds when they collected their all tournment team award? Good Luck next week CAL......

 

Whoa -are you asking X fans to cheer for Trinity? Pretty selective hearing if you think the X fans only cheered when the clean up hitter, starting center fielder, and closer retaliated and got removed from playing in the final? And yes, we did cheer for Andrew when he got a well deserved award.

A question for the CAL fans.

 

It would seem that the "Louisville" should be in front of the "Christian Academy" in their name. Didn't it used to be that way, and if so, why did they change?

Because LCA is Lexington Christian Academy, I'd assume

It's actually Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL) unlike Lexington Christian Academy (LCA---which at one time was TLCA "The Lexington Christian Academy"). CAL actually has several different campuses that they manage. The baseball team comes from the English Station campus which is elementary through high school. There is also CAL-Rock Creek (an elementary school where the entire school used to be); CAI (Christian Academy of Indiana--the former Graceland Christian School); and CAL-Southwest (which is currently through 10th grade and adding a grade each year). Each campus field their own athletic teams.

 

I know LCA used to have different campuses as well for the elementary and middle school levels. I'm not sure if they still do this or not.

Huge upset. What's the worst record of a team making it to state? CAL is 17-17 right now.

All these pats on the back??? Whats this hold your head high crap? The better teams lost (X & T) We let a team, that both should have squashed slip through, for no other reason then sloppy arrogance. I hope both teams learn from this & not take anyone for granted next year.

I agree cubbyfan. St. X and Trinity should never lose to CAL, ever, in any sport, ever! Especially a freshman pitcher! Very disappointing and very hard to take for St. X and Trinity players, coaches, parents and fans.
