It is Maronde's little brother (class of 2010) as I understand, not the draft pick. By the way, IMO there is nothing wrong, or to be considered strange or criticized, about bunting, moving runners, and playing to win, even is summer ball. Go to a college game or two and you will understand the value college coaches place on such skills as the sacrifice bunt, hitting behind runners, and generally playing the game the right way. As is often said by players and coaches at the next level, "do your job."

Very, and I mean very few teams have their kids bunt to win baseball games in regular season summer games (except when they are playing in tournaments). I would guess that I didn't see more than two bunts in all of last year regular season, being put down to sac runners along. Just didn't see it happen in the summer leagues regular season games like you see it happen in HS ball, and it surprised me seeing it happen yesterday. And BTW I see it happen for a HS coach who I think bunts (sac) runners along more so than any other coach in NKy and he bunts so much so, that the other teams know it, the fans know it and even the umpires know it, that if the first runner in a inning gets on, the second batter will be bunting him over no matter what spot in the order he is hitting from.

If you would like a certain player stats, just PM me and I will be happy to send you a copy, or come to the game today at Lincoln Lee Complex and look me up. I will be sitting behind the back stop with my score book, or just ask anyone of the many Ky. Colonels family members and they will be glad to point me out.

The Colonels and the Riverbats hooked up together for an old fashion good old day's baseball game, that took nine innings to end. Mike Sullivan with two men on and two outs comes through big time, with a shot down the third base line to win and end the game in the Ky. Colonels favor.

Both teams gave up two unearned runs in this game. The Colonels gave theirs up in the first innings and the Riverbats gave up theirs in the third but after that, it was a good old pitching duel. Both team made some fine defensive plays throughout the game and both team pitchers did a great job.
